    SOTD TUESDAY MORNING, NOVEMBER 17, 2020

    This morning was a classic shave. The straight razor selected for my mug was the Puma 88 5/8. Since I hadn’t shaved with any of my Gem safety razors in quite I selected the Model 1912 for the dome. The Puma is an excellent 20th century razor, and provided an excellent shave this morning along with the Model 1912 which sheared my dome stubble right down to the skin line. I feel cool, clean and smoothly velveteen, or as my Scottish friend Billy, of the TSD straight razor group says, “dolphin smooth”!

    RAZOR: Puma 88 5/8 (Mug), Gem Model 1912 (Dome)
    BLADE: Pella PTFE Gem
    PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
    BRUSH: Alpha Shaving T-400 Tribute w/ 26mm Boar Ferrule
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
    POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH and Osage Rub.

    Yes, mine doesn't have the date stamp but does have the same end caps. I can see why you like the British/Canadian Gillettes. I got mine while I was buying up Superspeeds for plating practice. It showed up and I thought, "that's interesting." I've given most of the other's away, but but I kept the rocket because it's unique in my collection. :) I'm glad I did.
