Thank You Joe. 2003-04 must have been a traumatizing experience for you to remember it so vividly.

Almost 2/3 of the way through the 30 day focus. My Timeless Ti .68 is doing a fantastic job. If you're an every day sort of shaver I highly recommend it. It's smooth and mild enough that it never irritates, but efficient enough to give me a very close shave with 2 passes or a BBS with 3. B&M Reserve Classic is also performing great. The scent wasn't one of my favorites in the beginning but it's growing on me a bit. It's probably still only going to make it into the "not bad" category but if you like cologne type scents you might really enjoy it.

Well, a major shave indeed, as it was my first crack at Mitchell Wool Fat shaving soap. First, I just corrected my error of listing the year 1803 as the formula year on MWF...it is 1893. Still a few years back, thus a quality Throwback choice. I also got conflicting advice on preparing the MWF for the shave. One post said to take a whole minute to load the soap onto the brush, one said do slow swirls , one said do fast. Before getting completely confused, I just decided to load swirl as I have BEEN loading and swirling with other soaps. I did notice it getting pretty "bubbly" after maybe 10-15 seconds. I think my total loading count was 20-25 seconds. First pass a little too wet, as has always been the case. But it went well. I could really feel the smoothness of my face and neck before beginning the second pass. Also by the second, I could see suds forming in the mug , at the bottom of the soap. I guess that's what SHOULD happen anyway. I'm happy to have a 19th century shave soap :). I will be trying dfferent aftershaves to go with it. Stephan B.R. is a nice choice. Maybe a different one for tomorrow. I did get a little Knick, but it was pretty harmless...it just SHOWED UP(that is, I didn't shave over a speed bump to produce it). It was gone with the cold-water rinse at the end. Nice and smooth feel from the shave...Out Of This World Excellent.
