The Williams Mug Soap face-lathered well with Jayaruh #419 Two Band Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the PAA Starling SE razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Quite often your last Shave with a Razor colours your view on it. My last Shave with this Hawk was very harsh and rather unpleasant.
On reflection I decided that though the Kai blade was only on its 7th outing, it must be past its best.
Today I load the Razor with a Fresh Feather Blade to see how that goes. Knowing that an OC can bite , I ensured that a No Rush take Care technique was best. Rather pleased that not only was the Shave very pleasant, but without mishaps during/post Shave a really ultra close finish was attained.

I was having my doubts about this Razor, due to some poor Shaves. However, after yesterdays Shave with a fresh blade which was excellent, I feel sure that the poor Shaves may well be down to a dodgy blade. Another Shave with The Hawk V3-OC today confirms my thoughts, as again had a very pleasant Shave with a superb close finish.

    Granado- soap bar
    RR S/S Hawk V3-OC
    Feather Proguard [ 3 ]
    Tuff Green A/S Lotion

Besides getting a good Shave I wanted to try out this new Soap Bar- Granado , from Brazil. Tried applying to face and working up a lather as I would a stick or Mogno Soap Bar, not too good. Got a better result working a brush on the bar, but lather dissipates quickly and needs constant refreshing. Initial impressions not a patch on Mogno, but will persevere.

On a positive note, the Shave itself was trouble free with an excellent close finish. The Hawk V3-OC is growing in my estimation.

2nd shave after the blade being broken in. Shave was much milder and not as close as the first shave on a fresh edge. Still a very good shave almost a BBS finish achieved.
