    The same razor, I believe, Jeff. Just the silver finish and the special case made it a Bostonian, iirc.
    They are both New Improveds.

    Edit- I see Evan already said the same thing...

    Thanks Jeff! No, they aren't Kirinite. The scales are called paua which is the word for abalone coined by the Maori people of New Zealand. The scales are acrylic and aren't full abalone because the inside doesn't have the design.You can get thin sheets of abalone to cut into whatever shape you want and glue it on any surface. I am guessing that is what Max does and then he "laminates" the scales so that the abalone stays protected from soap, dirt, etc.

    Lodge is quality stuff. I have a bunch of camp ovens, Dutch ovens and skillets. Your grandchildren will be frying eggs in that pan one day.

    We have several of the Lodge 14 inch pizza pans. Best pizza and cookie pans out there. If you don't have one check them out.

    All joking aside....I have never heard anyone complain about Arko's lather just the scent. I grated mine and left it covered with a towel on the carport for about three weeks. It toned down real nice. :D

    The 1912 is both a dependable razor and one that I am very comfortable using - 2 must have requirements for a travel setup. :happy088:

    Two items in my kitchen that I cook with more than anything are the Lodge 12" skillet and the Lodge 10.5" square grill pan.
