Terrific post, Barry! Everything you said about the modern Williams can be applied to the vintage version; only add that the vintage is easier to lather and has a better post shave feel. The scent has evaporated from the vintage puck that I have, which is a shame because I enjoy the scent of Williams.

SOTD THURSDAY, THANKSGIVING MORNING, NOVEMBER 26, 2020

Although it was a bit overcast, my shave this morning was exemplary! The 5/8 Puma 88 Special never lets me down. The Ronson Safety razor loaded with a Schick Proline B-20 also delivered the goods. I feel clean, cool, velveteen smooth and refreshed. Our Thanksgiving meal in these plague times is being hosted by my oldest son, Ben. It’s a much smaller meal this year. Ben’s oldest daughter, Jennifer, will never be joining our Thanksgiving table again. She was killed by a drunk driver three months ago, but her sweet daughter, Lily Ellen, my first great granddaughter will. Despite all that we have much to be thankful for. My second oldest son, Sam, is a first responder who survived Covid, and thankfully all my other children and grandchildren are healthy and safe, although not joining us at table this year due to my and SWMBO’s immunocompromised selves. So zoom it will be. Happy Thanksgiving to all my shave brothers and sisters.

RAZOR: Puma 88 Special 5/8 (Mug), Ronson Safety Razor (Dome)
    BLADE: Schick Proline B-20 Injector
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
    BRUSH: Sapele/Resin Handled Pro48 Boar
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH and Osage Rub. Finished with Pre de Provence Bergamot & Thyme Balm.

So, both razors (well, minus the two coming back from Utah and the I1 injector that I keep out at the lake) and brushes have now been rolled through. I have ashamedly realized that I can make it through the full month without doubling up on any software. Will have to use a sample or two by Monday, though.
I’m happy to play with the new to me Supply. Kept the 2 dot plate on from last time and got the same smooth, effortless shave. Love the weight of this Stainless razor and, despite it looking chunkier than the Schick originals, has an incredibly easy to find and instinctive sweet spot. 3 passes has me just short of perfect- a little left on my lower right neck. I suspect, though, that 4 years ago I would have considered this true perfection.
Loved the SV lather as always, but do put this pleasant dupe behind my other SV pucks for memorable scent quality.
    Have a great day all!

Paul Turner outside the quote(s) now

A Happy Thanksgiving to all members :))).And speaking of that, my Thanksgiving/Throwback Thursday shave didn't get top honors today, but it'll do. At the beginning I over-loaded the brush, giving it 0:20, with the hope of going higher to my traditional 30 range. 20 was enough. Lots of H2O in the soap puck, too. But I had 2 good passes. Razorock Tuscan Oud is a nice soap. Next time I'll remember to be a little drier with the setup, though. NE&NW Porcupine Alley were tricky once again. But I succeeded. The South end of Porcupine is easier to do of late. Good job down at Cactus Nation. Solid at the "upper facial zones"(jawline to eyes). The Agadir decided to be a Niagra Falls clone today, as more poured out than I needed or wanted. I guess I need to focus more on @Trigger 's advice for stoppage(or better control). But it smelled nice, as always. Another Super Duper Excellent.

Y'all know this was a good one.

The polished Rockwell 6S @ plate 6 and an Astra was a smooth drive this morning. Big Red whipped up a truck load of slick lather. Finished it off with some Black Tie Gentleman a dupe of Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille.

Enjoy your day gentlemen and have a great Thanksgiving!
