Happy weekend y'all! I just finished off a 6 hour shift at the 2010 Pack-A-Thon. OE (a local non-profit that helps out disabled clients with work program and life skills, housing, etc...) gets the contract each year to pack the bags that the runners at the Chicago Marathon receive. This is their big fundraiser of the year that helps fund a lot of their important programs. So the Marathon pays them to get the bags packed. And then we volunteers pack the bags. So I spent 6 hours with about 100 of my current and former students (900 total volunteers, 100 from my school) packing bags. Did I mention that we had to pack over 40,000 bags? Yeah... I'm whooped. But, in a few hours I will be at the German teacher's backyard Oktoberfest and it will all be better... right? Oh... the decision was made last night at 10PM and the order for the updated phone was placed. I should have a Droid 2 on Tuesday. Now... I need to go find someplace to collapse until it is time to pick up some liquid supplies for the Oktoberfest.
Just a little bit more.... Justin that sounds like a full day to me. Just rolled out of bed here. Back to work tonight for me. I have not been there for a Week. WOOOO vacation time to do nothing rules. Fuzzy
I posted here a month or so ago fussing and fuming about my HTC Hero and all the problems I had after an OS upgrade. Well since then I've traded up to the Evo which is I think Sprints version of the Droid. What a fantastic phone. The best smart phone I've ever owned in fact, and I've been using them for years and have tried several brands. The functionality and usability are spot on and that huge screen is awesome. No more fumbling with a too-tiny on screen keyboard. I think you'll like it. Welcome back Fuzzy! I returned myself about a month ago and didn't see you around. <click>
heh. all this talk about cell phones made me want to recommend the one I use- a bare bones motorola I got free with a two year contract something like four years ago. I've dropped it several times and it has yet to break. Problem is I don't think it's manufactured anymore. Verizon doesn't list it under its free phone offerings, and neither does motorola. But it's a good, basic phone, if you can find it.
I have an evil I phone just because my mom and dad got it from my brother in law. I would not have paid for it myself. I like it the more i use it. But could live with a simple phone.
Hook 'em. Hopefully next week, Texas will actually show up. I'm pretty sure they just grabbed a bunch of yahoos out of the stands and put helmets on them.
yeah, that disappointed me quite a bit...even moreso that it was a team for that state that scored more points... but, Bama won, so that's the important thing and, I can't believe how dirty/arrogant Boise State is being, makes me want to hope they lose
