Wake up HYD'ers!!! It's Sunday morning!

When did we become a sticky? Is that good or bad?

its a recent thing. Now we have a weekly sticky that then gets slapped onto the HYD archive each week and then we start a new sticky. I think it has only been a month or so that this has been going on.

I was gonnna ask about that too Shep. Glad I know now.

Well I am getting ready for work here. Been raining most of the times I woke up today. Should be a nice busy night at the casino. The rain seems to make people wanna come play.

Wow, I did not know Dom was the STM! :D

it's a recent thing, as already been noted. They figured HYD was kinda on life support at the time (if you can consider me, Micah, Mike, and Justin "life"), so figured archiving the thread, and starting a weekly sticky would both encourage new folks to jump in and post without feeling like they missed something important, and allow for fresh topics to be started.
I have to say I was hesitant at first, but I do believe it accomplished the goal, with flying colors.

I have scouted out the location of our next spoliation trip! I hesitate to say where it is, lest someone else beat us there. I didn't buy anything, but I sure drooled on the display cases... several straights in good condition--including one that had some kind of blade guard looking thing on it that I've never seen, a Rolls in nice shape (strop was a little nicked), 3 or 4 vintage wooden soap bowls, including a yardley's and a hershey's. A badger bristle brush. A little shaving set which consisted of a folding mirror with attached bowl, brush (in poor shape) and a gem razor. Several Gems, a schick injector, and a dial adjust gillette, not to mention the long handled gillette razor that I've never seen before, some sort of cartridge razor, I think I think it was called a stirling. Several old spice shave mugs. Then there was the piece de resistance'--a genuine Gillette display case with balck velvet lining and heavy glass lid.

There were also some vintage tools that were really nice and very reasonably priced. I very nearly bought a scythe for $45. The blade looked easily salvageable.

Oh yeah, I know where we have to go on our next spoliation run.

How's my day? Pretty good, thanks for asking.

Been thinking about getting a dog. With a house full of very young children, I am curious what you guys would recommend.

In my 30+ years of living, many of which have included domesticated canine companionship, it is my firm and solemn opinion that the best breed of dog to have with kids is a mutt. Specific breed dogs have too much potential for having been inbred stupid and are far overpriced, where a mutt can be had for free or next to nothing and it will love your kids as much or more than any dog with papers.

That said, I recommend a cat.
