Found this while looking around at the Boker Razor site. Gentlemen used an interesting grip at about 6 min in. Figured I’d share.

This is how I rolled today.

    A3 Gillette Red Tip
    Feather (1)
MrEE Danger anodized aluminum handle w/30 mm Maggard's SHD two-band fan
    Mike's Hungarian Lavender
Alum, Witch Hazel, USB & Almond Oil
    CC Bay Rum

Wow! I enjoyed a fantastic three-passer this evening with some world-class gear! Starting with two days of growth, I wound up near-BBS, boo-boo free, super comfy, and smelling great! The alum was a tad sparkly (I left it on for a couple of minutes), but it's a welcome part of my after-shave routine.

This was my first outing with the @MrEE Danger brush. The handle is the perfect combination of size, weight, and shape, and it feels perfect in my hand. The anodized finish makes for an incredible grip. I had the handle covered with lather, and it didn't feel the least bit slippery. The donut appeared with a vengance, and the Mike's Hungarian Lavender is definitely on the ropes. Until you've held one of Evan's brushes in your hand, you can't appreciate the quality, workmanship, and the thought that went into the overall design. Thanks again, Evan, for the wonderful gift. Danger will be a permanent fixture in the Danger Den! The Maggard's SHD knot performs as good as any knot in my humble brush rotation. The tips are super soft, and it has great backbone. A big thanks to @clint64 for recommending the knot!

This was my first DE shave in weeks, and the Red Tip was a joy to use. Loaded with a Feather blade, it handles like a sports car and delivers the goods. It was like getting together with an old friend after an extended time apart. We threw social distance to the wind and embraced for what seemed like forever. I could have stopped after two passes, but I went for the third just for fun. I want to thank my friend @Douglas Carey for PIFing me this fantastic razor a few years ago. It's another keeper in my Den.

Yeah, I had fun! Grace and Peace.

    Good afternoon guys!

    Shavette Shave #221
    Dovo Shavette
    Personna Hairshaper Blade (5)
    JR #290 Synthetic Brush
    Cella Shave Soap
    Old Spice P/G Aftershave
    Whiskers: 31 hours

I was going to wait for my normal Sunday afternoon shave, but I wanted to try out the Cella.
I love the scent right off the puck. I would give it a 6 out of 10 in scent strength. Cella is really easy to lather. My JR brush gave me a nice, creamy lather. The residual slickness is ok. As long as I have some slicknes for buffing, I am fine. Cella did lose the scent while I was shaving, so that was the only negative. Maybe it gets stronger the more I use it. If not, then I still think it is an awesome soap. Did 2 passes for a BBS shave, but got two weeps on my chin and one on my lower neck. I attribute it to being nonchalant with my blade placement and neg. pressure. Also after 4 shaves prior to this one, the Personna hairshaper is still extremely sharp so it is still unforgiving with less than stellar technique. Used my styptic pen to fix the situation without any traces. Applied the last of the Old Spice to finish the shave. Have a great evening guys! 20201128_170807.jpg

    Bummer on the ribs.
Years back, I was horse racing a buddy through the woods when my fave steed didn’t bother to think about the rider needing to clear the tree branches too. I flunked out as well, and got two crackies on a clothes line stunt fall at a dead run for not bothering to steer.

I really love the AS-D2, although I think it is easier to use than the widely popular EJ DE89.

    Get better soon.

Hi Bill! Hope you had a fine Thanksgiving! I am familiar with this video and have seen it many times. I like the ragtime music with the B/W recording to give a sense of the time period. Yes, I have noticed his technique and it is a little unorthodox, but if it works for him that's fine with me. Your Dovo Sunday Shaver is very nice, but then again, I am partial to Dovo razors.

You're livin' large with today's shave, Bill. That is a cool video. I had seen it before but did not remember the backhand grip. The cool water splash at the end was a nice touch!

    I hope you're having a great weekend.

Who got the Best In Show at the Nat Dog Show? I was so happy the English Springer won the Working Dog Group(my family had one for 6 years-poor thing was hit by a car just at the prime of his life).

Beautiful shave, Joe. I'm glad you liked the Cella. I've never tried it, but all the reviews I've read are favorable. It has quite a history, and there's something about classic products like Cella that makes shaving extra special.

Have a great weekend, my friend.

Thanks Joe. I'll try to get some different photos of the brush over the next several shaves. @MrEE outdid himself with this one, and I'm grateful and humbled to be its caretaker for the next few years.

Thanks Charlie! I now have the 4 main shave classics in my den: Proraso, Cella, Arko, and Tabac.
I went to smell the Arko once again, and I find that it really is a nice scent. Have a great weekend as well!

You have four classic products, Joe. Arko is a top-performer, for sure. At the end of the day, I'll take performance over scent when it comes to a soap or cream. To my nose, soap scents never last long enough to make a big difference. I also don't worry too much about aftercare, as I follow all my shaves with a moisturizing product.

Having said that, I can tolerate Arko's scent, but I actually enjoy the Tabac and Proraso scents.
