Mind you, I was running early this morning. I usually pull in here right at 7:30, and this morning it was 17 after when I get a text on my phone as I near the halfway mark to work. "No internet"

Cheezuz H. Johnson, people! It's bad enough when you stop me in the parking lot to gripe about the computers but this is ridiculous.

And now, on to other news--about my weekend (if anyone cares):

Friday, went up to TWGW's home town to see niece's birthday and nephew's football game. On the way up, made a stop at the halloween store and did something that hasn't happened in a very long time--spent money on a pre-made costume.

Nephew's team won. Niece is finally warming up to me. Texas Lost.

I think I'm gonna get a shirt made up that says "Hook 'em anyway"

There are two tomatoes crossing the road, and one of them gets run over by a car.
The other one runs over and goes "Oh my God, are you okay?"
The first tomato stands up and brushes some dirt from his pants and says "I'm fine, I had a meatball in my pocket."

I saw this hot rod last weekend at the velodrome and it doesn't come close to comparing to the bayafied images..

I'll take my Sony Vaio over that any day.

Have you seen the lines of people waiting outside the Apple stores? Ridiculous. For that price they should be sending someone to my home to work on my computer. Not making me wait out in the rain, snow, heat, what-have-you.

    I have a VGN-CS115J

It was bought when Circuit City was closing. At about a fourth the retail price. Had no battery and made a loud noise. Sony fixed it and gave me a battery. All at no cost, and they didn't care that it had been a display model, not in a box untouched. Paid for overnight shipping like 3 times, too. They probably spent more on shipping than I paid for the computer.

Their customer service is beyond 5 stars in my book.

Haha. I also have a Sony Vaio that I bought from Circuit City as a display model for 50% of retail. While I normally like Sony, my laptop borders on being a POS. I've replaced the keyboard twice in it and the construction is rather flimsy.

Circuit City closed its retail store fronts, but still have a web presence.

We really like our Asus Netbook. All things Mac are way out of our price range for the forseable future. Mac's always been one of those products that appears to be good quality, but everything they make just costs so much...

I am not, nor will I ever be cool enough to own an Apple product.

Just my opinion and experiences. Of course.

I'd also never buy an Apple. Their holier-than-thou attitude doesn't jive with me.

Use one for a while and you will understand where that attitude comes from!

No blue screens, no driver failures...

I'll gladly admit as a long time Mac user that they are not perfect... but when I can run UNIX command lines and still have a GUI running a mail client at the same time... I'm happy!

    meh... each to their own!

    I've never had those problems.

Not a fan of Apple....nothing wrong with their products, but they're overpriced look-at-me objects, for the most part.

Their biggest draw is "it's not Windows", and that's enough for probably 99% of their consumers (not including people that work in audio and video editing/creation for a living).

If you customize a Windows machine for the same price as an Apple, you'll hardly notice a difference outside of GUI (graphical user interface).
Again, that does not include audio/video folks, Mac does deal with multimedia better than Windows, but for internet/typing/games/listening to music/watching videos, etc., well, that's for debate for those that want to debate it.
The majority of problems Apple fans will talk about is usually, not always, mostly the fault of the $399 walmart special computer - a case of you get what you pay for.

I would look at the Asus laptops, I love mine, even though I'm considering selling it to pay some medical bills and go towards my daughter's needed removal of tonsils (also gonna be selling some other stuff too).

Sony is in a similar boat as Apple to me, good product, but not worth the premium Brand-Tax, to me. Again, that's open to debate for those that want to debate it, of which I am not.

    Just my .5 cents
