    Lynn Abrams is the master of straight razor shaving. He has been doing it for over 30 yrs which totals more than 10,000 straight shaves. I definitely would pay attention if I were a newbie straight shaver.

    Great shave, Clint! Glad the Tradere is working for you. I probably should have ordered the OC version. I may do that! Enjoy your shaves!

    BAUME.BE~~Simpson H4 SiLVERTiP~~Barbasol Floating Head/Voskhod
    Learned quite a bit from Bill's video. Thanks again Bill for the well-done and educational post.
    As can be seen in the photo, I am still using the same cream per my December focus.
    I decided to go into more detail in my lather-making process.
    The H4 was soaking during my showering and here it has been well shook-out.
    So, it's damp and not at all dripping.

    The product is smeared into the bottom of the dry Aesop bowl
    [IMG]
    This is a sticky situation and I am careful not to put too much pressure on the knot.
    I don't want to have any hairs pulled out.

    I will continue this process, stopping to dip the tips of the knot in water.

    [IMG]
    Eventually, I will "clear the breach", meaning, I squeeze out the lather into the bowl;
    add a bit more water (more or less, depending on what consistency I have at the time);
    and proceed to complete the whipping.
    At this time, the lather has lost the stickiness, so I will be a bit more aggressive with my mixing.
    Here you can see a nice sheen and the lather is ready for the face.

    I decided to return to the Voskhod, this time with the Barbasol FH razor.
    While the razor is "beefy" and
    fairly "weighty", its blade exposure is moderate
    and the angle is easy to find and maintain.
    Referencing Bill's video again, I agree wholeheartedly that one should not repeatedly
    make a pass over the same area, without re-lathering.
    However, if the lather has enough residual slickness, as does the BAUME.BE,
    buffing is an option, without fear of irritation.
    I was able to perform a three-pass shave, today adding an outside-to inside and
    inside to outside neck pass. No issues.
    Witch Hazel cleans the soap residue off of the skin.
    I have a small sample bottle of Proraso post shave, unscented balm. I used a small amount.
    Finished with a scent which I really like, but seldom use:
    Tom Ford Grey Vetiver.
