Yeah Micah.... I think it is contagious. Both the desire to smack them into next week and the need to be smacked into next week.

Update: Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook Remix install = success!

This is indeed a great improvement from the standard OS, since it takes into account the smaller display real estate, as well as hardware, and runs much better

    *random.org* 275 thumbs up!

pretty cool, though I'm not super extension user, Xmarks is my main thing, and with their continued existence questionable, I may go ahead and go mostly Opera (unless I'm swayed to the dark side by Go-ogle)

EDIT: wait, wait, wait wait, wait........just read another article about Opera 11 from Yahoo news, and in that article it mentions that Opera Mobile for Android will be out soon......."soon"??? what the heckes did I already install on my Droid 2 then?

    *screen on, screen unlock*

    oh, Opera Mini....
    okay then, carry on

I am ashamed to post here but can you dumb some of that down as I am using Firefox but have Windows IE and also Google. Some of these are hard to use with my Norton Internet Security as it seems to block programs from loading unless I turn off the firewall until it loads. The programs were working fine but evidently a "update" must have complicated the process. ::lam

Disregard that I am an idiot. I found the laptop power supplies that I thought someone walked off with.

    Thieves are still idiots, though.

    Opera, eh?

I haven't tried Opera since I had a buggy installation a year or so ago. Downloading it now.

cruddy Windows 7 laptops keep rebooting without any warning. I am very very very sick of that lame OS. Nothing like being in the middle of a presentation and the computer reboots. Then, it took it three hours to finish installing software after the reboot this morning. Ugh. I wish that the gradebook ap that we have to use would work in something other than Winblows. Well, I guess the Smart software apps won't work in linux either.

I haven't tried the newer versions of Ubuntu - I have been Minty for a while.

My wife's laptop still has Vista on it, I haven't yet upgraded it to 7, and it still from time to time updates and restarts without warning, though I think I finally fixed that. My laptop with 7 on it hasn't once rebooted without warning, though it has popped up the irritating 'reboot now or later' box.
Gonna be something in your update settings you'll need to adjust, unless your tech department has that locked and maintained through the server, which even then should never update and reboot during the day, IMHO at least. It's my goal that nothing technology related should interrupt the education process......of course, technology being what it is, interrupts everything by nature, right? :happy102

Hmmmmmm... I feel lazy and don't want to google it myself.

SO, I got used to having folders of bookmarks on a toolbar. Now, I can make folders of bookmarks in the bookmarks menu in Opera. I can put bootmarks in a personal toolbar in Opera. How do I get pulldown lists (folders) of links on a toolbar within Opera?

    No... I don't want much.

I haven't actually come across a need for that particular feature, so I can't say for sure that Opera offers it stock. I can however suggest that there is a little slider on the side that can hide your bookmarks until you need them.
