Thank you, Jeff...I shave Saturday Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday. and sometimes on special occasions. However, i could and i should shave daily too, but i don't , i enjoy my shaves better missing a day it's also giving my skin a rest. After my head shave this morning it's starting to feel like sandpaper again in places...i'm moderately 'follicly challenged' so to keep my precious swede in good fettle i 'NO GUARD' buzzcut it every week, have done for over two years now, after my barber advised me to get some hair clippers and do it myself. I started with the No.1 3mm/0.11811 Inch. then by mistake i forgot to put the guard on one day and buzzed my hair in 'NO GUARD' mode which i found wasn't that much different to the No.1,so i've left the guard off since...After that i built up the courage to do my first 'WET' head/dome shave , which went better than i imagined . Once you build your shaving technique & gain shaving confidence, your on a winner.
    Have a great weekend. Yours-Barry.

    Lightly scented, well-performing soaps....

I'd like to see what you all think. What are some soaps that you might recommend that are good performers and might pair well with a variety of scents?

As I've mentioned, it seems I'm headed towards a few soaps with a variety of splashes. Obviously I would keep The Fat.

Others that have been recommended to me that I haven't tried:

@Droo78 and @clint64 - how would LEA soap fit in this quest?

Hope everyone is doing well and has a terrific weekend? Or as the elite might say:

SOTD SATURDAY MORNING, DECEMBER 5, 2020

I woke up to a rainy, overcast Saturday morning. I had no recourse but to opt for a great morning shave. A number of my shave brothers at TSD this month have pulled out their Barbasol Floating Head safety razors, so-called because of the way the blade appears to float above the safety bar. This safety razor model dates from the early thirties, but I was able to obtain a NOS example at a Shave Collectibles Meeting over a year ago. It came with the case, an original blade tuck, and the box with original use instructions. I still remember how the dealer’s jaw dropped when I told him I was planning to shave with it.

This razor, for a display Queen, shaves highly efficiently, and certainly didn’t disappoint this morning. Two ATG passes easily put the baby to bed on my dome. The MWF, my regular shave soap, didn’t disappoint either, supplying the two types of lather I enjoy for my mug and noggin shaves. The wonderful wood handled Feather DX was a pleasure to shave with. I remember having some doubts a few months ago when I switched from the Feather SS, but I'm really glad I did. The shave angle on the DX is virtually identical to that of a regular straight razor which was not the case for the SS model. My Feather SS now resides in Canada. In any case, after the usual three (WTG, ATG, XTG) passes I’m velveteen smooth and smelling like a fresh lime.

RAZOR: Feather Wood Handled DX (Mug), Barbasol FH (Dome)
BLADE: Feather Super AC (Mug), Feather DE (Dome)
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: MrEE Knurled Aluminum Handle Hybrid Knot #007
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Old Spice Fresh Lime.

Lea shave soap would fit in great. I find the scent very pleasing but light. It would work with pretty much any aftershave. Check out The Razor Company with a great price and free shipping at $10. I would also add Antiga Barbara de Bairro shave soap to the list as well. Very similar to LEA with a wonderful light scent. Also it has a great price off around $21 for a very hard soap that should last a very long time.

I have an extra shave stick of La Toja. If you want it shoot me a PM.

Good morning gentlemen from soggy Long Island. The weather is not going to dampen my spirits. Another week in the books. One more closer to joining the MOLC in June.

Today shave featured the Wester Bros. straight which delivered another comfortable three pass. The synthetic brush whipped up a thick bowl lathered soap. Between each lathering the brush was placed in an iced watered brush scuttle. A pleasurable chill when the lather was applied to the face.

During the past few weeks my son, Anthony, has been inquiring about the various brushes I have. He is especially interested in the difference in the type, the feel and which I like the most. Therefore today I gave him a spin with the synthetic brush.

Naturally, the only way to remove the soap is which a razor, sans blade of course.

Following a splash of Osage Rub and the RR x is is smooth, velveteen and smelling good. Rave reviews from his mama.

    Have a great day gentlemen.

Joe, great shave, but more important are the fun photos of Anthony! That is awesome! My son Wilson will be 6 on Thursday and he is always talking about me shaving. He doesn't want any soap or cream on his face, though, so we just talk about it right now. Anyway, great way to start a Saturday!
