I strop anywhere from 40 to 60 laps. You probably can get away with 30, but imo, 20 is low. I would want to make sure my edge is properly aligned by stropping with more strokes rather than less strokes. Why do want to do less strokes on the leather, Chris?

Another winner of a shave this morning. Middle of the Central Texas Soaps/Clubman Trifecta. 0:25 for the loading of the Stoylin No-Name brush(I'm sure Doc Ezlovan can identify it though). Once again I didn't dry the brush enough before loading-this needs to be a focus for me. Anyway, I made sure to increase the time of swirling the soap onto my face and neck(back&forth, up&down). That IS a focus. Nice job at both ends of Porcupine Alley. Down at Cactus Nation(neck), I noticed after the first pass that I would most definitely need the second so as to be sure to get the area I keep struggling with (Northeast side, just under the jaw). Got it at the second. A Knick suddenly appeared, but I figured to knock it out with the cold-water rinse and aftershave. This happened, in fact. I overdid the aftershave a bit(Clubman)and I could tell as the sting (tingle, call it what you will)came on. Clean&fresh, set for Sunday. Out Of This World Excellent.

SOTD SUNDAY MORNING, DECEMBER 6, 2020

Woke up to a very cool, sunny 28 degree morning here in the western Philadelphia suburbs. My Feather DX mug focus continues as do my decisions regarding my safety razor collection. My Tradere review led to the sale of that razor, currently wending its way to California. In that same spirit, I've halved my AC safety razor collection from 4 to 2. My SS Hawk V3 and my green aluminum Hawk V2 are on their way south along with a new magazine of Feather AC Supers.

Next on the block for review this morning was my SS Supply V2. Even before I began this morning’s shave, I pretty much knew it was staying. It's just a magnificent shaver. This morning I loaded a fresh Schick Twinjector blade, and had at my noggin. One ATG pass effectively sheared my stubble right down to the skin line. The shave with the Twinjector reminded me of my Shake Sharp dome shaves with stacked DE blades. All that I really needed to do was some selective buffing after that first pass, but I enjoy my shaves too much! So I lathered up for a wholly unnecessary second pass which ended another great shave leaving me refreshed, clean and velveteen smooth!

RAZOR: Feather Wood Handled DX (Mug), Supply SS V2 (Dome)
BLADE: Feather Super AC (Mug), Schick Twinjector (Dome)
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
    BRUSH: Rooney Ebony Badger
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH and Osage Rub.

1)Water was on it for for approximately 45mins.
    2) Applied pasty with brush like someone mentioned to me the other day. Used paintbrush strokes to try to keep it even.
3)Added water to puck . Also added a bit to tip of brush at one point too in an attempt to thin paste out.
You are probably right about not worrying about the dollar amount. If I cant get it next time i'll just toss it. Thanks Joseph !!

Thanks Perry. We have city water here and all my soaps lather well except for the MWF. I'm confused whether it's me or the soap. I can whip up the Williams no problem and I feel for those who cant . The MWF leaves my skin soft and I like the scent . Just not its ability to lather .

It's all about how much time I have if I shave in the morning. This is why I have taken up shaving at night. I can take my time and relax with it, leading to better shaving.

Chris - enjoying learning, whatever the subject

Thanks Joe. I have city water which seems to work with all other soaps pretty good. I never ever bloom soaps but did this morning in desperation and still failed sadly.

I would imagine any decent shave would end up with a batting average far exceeding the record set by Ted Williams(.406, in 1941).
