Beautiful, Jim. I'm doing the same thing this month- 3 days at a time for a razor. The Tradere looks fantastic again. The soap and splash must be an older batch. One of your first from them?
Sounds great, Perry. Love the Revere handle. I have it in a Trac II handle, but not the Injector. Interesting that you say it is quite tame compared to earlier ones- even with the heavier handle.
I think that brass head looks great just the way it is, Danny. You did a great job on it. Which Derby is that? I had a few packs of Extras when I first started, but haven't used them in forever. I got a tuck of Premiums as a gift from Fendrihan but haven't used them yet.
That brush is always a fave when you show it off, Clint. So, is the Pils surviving the purge? Sounded good today.
I agree with you for the most part on blades, Joseph. I am in the 'it is either good, or useless' camp. High praise on the Beaume for sure. A few I've had are useless (Ladas, Merkur, Tiger come to mind) but most all the rest (especially Russian Gillettes…) are good.
Very nice, Pierpaolo. Where do you post your razor vs razor reports?
Love the spalted wood on the brush, Joe. As usual, hang on tight to that CL...
Great minds today on the Occam's, Jeff. Interesting you mention that it was marketed to newbies. When mine came, I think that is how the ridged top cap was explained, but not the regular cap. One bit of useless info about the razor- Classic shaving is based in a really small town in northern Idaho (Sandpoint) that is actually only about an hour and a 1/2 drive from here. If the border was open, I suppose...
Great brush, great knot, great razor...DEcadent for sure, Gary.
Look at that Shiv, Blair! Intimidating looking for sure. Getting the coveted SOA is always a good thing.
You are bang on about the Goodwill, Evan. For free then, DEcadent December now. I wouldn't mind trying one of the OT headed ones with the thru mortices either.
Yes, we paid $50 for a 10 ft Fir tree. Significantly more than usual, I would say. Saw some cultured ones at $100. I don't go get them 'in the wild' any more, but I should.

I've used exactly 1 Kai blade and I can't remember what razor it was in. I actually have a few I won in the last TSD raffle. I admit I chose the prize for the Shareton and not the Kai blades. :) I'll give them a try. Perhaps I'll even do a side-by-side with a Feather and see how they compare.

Thank you Jason. I just love this brush. Oh yes, the Pils will survive the purge. When I do my part, it is right in my sweet spot of smooth and efficient.

Just a quick 1 pass shave with Kanion Classic (allantoin edition) shaving cream today. It's a shame it doesn't smell one bit like the eau de toilette.

Fine shave Blair! One day I may add a kami to my den. Right now, I'm just holding off from buying another über wide straight razor. Lol!

Derby Extras. I still have a few lying around. I have not used them in a while but they worked great in the razor this morning.

    Thanks Jason!

Excellent shave Evan! Love Proraso Green SS and AS because it has a clean and fresh scent. I would have liked it more if the scent lingered.

Really nice menthol Monday shave Evan. Gorgeous blue monster.

And....our usual place for Christmas trees.....way overpriced this year. They've always been kinda spendy, but the trees are usually great quality and freshly cut. We went and looked the day before Thanksgiving....and most of their trees (says from Wisconsin) were so badly shedding needles that we walked without a purchase. I guess they knew it, cause my wife and I were talking about for 4-5 trees we considered. Ended up day after Thanksgiving going very early to Lowe's, ~8' Fraser Fir for $70. Not bad for DFW, other places make that look like chump change.

As we get into the Survey for this month, we see that Mix It Up has a pretty good lead of 20%(52 for MIU to 32% for Best Christmas Cookie). Really Have It With Decadent Gear is solidly in 3rd with 24%. 30-Day Rule and One Particular Piece Of Equipment have their work cut out for them and 16% and 4% respectively.
