How does linen impact the shave? I am very frugal, having invested in a quality strop but not linen. I might do so in January.

Thank you, Gary! I really enjoy the scent and also the basic ingredients list which all their aftershaves have.
Thank you, Myles. Definitely chilly here in Cobb County.

Linen is just another medium/progressive abrasive for maintenance on the edge. More abrasive than leather, but not as much as when you put a paste on it (like Chromium Oxide, or other options).

I have a Ezra Arthur bridle leather w/linen strop, and a Tony Miller Heirloom 'Old No. 2 Notavan' leather and linen strop. Originally I was only going to use the Ezra for all my needs...but I like smiling razors, and the general consensus I read (including some emails with Tony) is that a less stiff strop (leather and linen) is able to follow the smile contour and stay in contact better. Made sense to me. The Tony Miller strop is mainly for the smiling razors.

My Ezra Arthur linen option has CrOx on one side of the linen to help polish the blade edge. Then, the other side (of the linen) can be used to strop after the CrOx (being sure to clean the blade before, so you don't contaminate the next linen). Then, it'd be onto the leather of the Ezra Arthur.

Both the Ezra Arthur (from ShaveNation) and the Tony Miller (Heirloom Razor Strop Co) were very reasonable given the quality of both. And....both are setup so that individual pieces can be replaced if necessary.
