That confuses me about the P&G version of Old(which I like to call NEW)Spice. On some of the PG's you see the world "Original" or "Classic". Why is that? I mean, it appears to me Original Old Spice was what came into the men's grooming world in 1938-Shulton.

Thank you for asking, this is my busy time of year so I’m only able to check in a few times a week. I am doing well.

I prefer firehouse linen, I bought mine on Etsy. I have FeOx on one side and do 8 to 10 laps, then 20 on clean linen then 60+ on leather. I think this lets me maintain an edge longer.

No more ATG on the first pass.

    Good morning guys!

    Shavette shave #225
    Parker SRB
Feather Hi Stainless 1/2 DE Blade (1)
    Omega Pro 49 Boar Brush
Stirling Christmas Eve SS and AS
    Whiskers: 41 hrs

I decided to get into the holiday spirit and bring out the Christmas Eve soap and aftershave. I just think this scent is awesome. For this shave, I used a Feather blade for the first time and on a shavette to boot!
I was called last min to work so I had to be quick. The Feather blade was deceptively sharp and quite smooth. Did one side of my face and thought piece of cake. However, my dominant side was a little different. Recieved a few weeps on my left cheek, but no biggie. I was surprised that I didn't get any crimson flow on my neck. I only did one pass and got an IBSS +. A one pass shave on a 41 hour growth and looking clean shaven tells me that Feather blades are no joke. Splashed on the awesome juice and ready for the day. Have a great day guys!

Thanks Joe. It upset me a bit to have used too much aftershave, as I'm getting pretty low on that Stoylin. Hopefully a more reasonable amount tomorrow.

SOTD TUESDAY MORNING, DECEMBER 8, 2020

It’s a cool, gray 32 degrees Farenheit here in the Philadelphia suburbs. After our governor’s Covid presentation yesterday, I’m seriously tempted to retreat to an A-Bomb shelter! It’s bad out there, and not getting any better. As an advanced member of the danger demographic it’s not looking good for our country health nor economy-wise. All I have to fall back on are the pleasure of my morning shaves and return to my Feather DX focus. And this morning’s shave was one of the better ones, thank goodness. I selected my beautiful silver plated Valet Auto Strop Model VB2, and stropped the contained carbon steel Feather FAS-10 blade for forty strokes. The wonderful Sapele/Resin handled Pro48 built by an extremely talented Canuckian turner friend at TSD, performed beautifully. It effortlessly created the two different lathers I like for my dome and mug shaves. The result was a foregone conclusion, two great shaves, one with an open edge on the mug and the other with a classic, vintage safety razor on the dome. I feel refreshed, clean and smoothly velveteen!

RAZOR: Wood Handled Feather DX (Mug), Valet Auto Strop Model VB2
BLADE: Feather Super AC (Mug), Feather FAS-10 Carbon Steel (Dome)
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
    BRUSH: Sapele/Resin Handled Pro48 Boar
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold Water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Krampert’s Frostbite AS Splash.

Reading about a focus is probably boring, but nevertheless, I am bound and
    determined to complete it.
    To create today's lather, I chose a well-known lather hog, the CH2.
This knot was tied around 2011 and the Super Badger hair is delectable.
If you keep the soap on the wet/goopy side, the knot will release its contents.
This lather is wet and goopy.

The nice thing about this soap, is that even when the lather is extra wet, if you use aggressive
paint strokes, it tightens up and sets down an incredible barrier between your blade and your skin.
Second shave with the Astra SP and again, I am really getting to learn the ins and outs of
the Barbasol FH, which has, BTW, a narrower angle of attack than I ever would have guessed.
I start the pass riding the bar, but need to decrease the angle before I can get some blade-feel.
Riding the cap is much too shallow and doesn't even feel as if the blade is making contact.
3 passes and no, I wouldn't pass a cotton ball test, I passed my personal test of a great shave.
Something made me grab my bottle of A&E's Chasing the Dragon aftershave.
Perhaps it's my affinity for incense-like scents. This is a good one.

2nd day with the Occam's and loaded in a fresh Nacet. 6th and last software combo for the week- I'm rotating through these 6 fave pairings as part of DEcadent DEcember. My love of this current iteration of Fine pucks is well documented and the awesomeness of L'Orange Noir has been equally lauded by yours truly. An exceptional lather today, no question. On a side note- I have caught bits and pieces of the excellent shave videos that 30DCers have posted lately, and in general I'd say I load quite heavily in comparison and take it to the face with quite a bit more water. I also use the 'flick' method as I like the water right into the knot and dip just the tips only occasionally. To each their own.
The Occam's provided another great shave this morning. This full scalloped plate is my #1 amongst the 3 it came with, but all are good. The 'mild' full bar plate gives just as good of shaves, albeit with a narrower sweet spot. The 'mid' partially scalloped plate is not quite as smooth, for whatever reason, but still is just as efficient. 3 passes later and I am quite smooth.
    Have a great day all!

It's just a name change, the formulation of P&G the "classic" and "original" are the same formulation, both are different from the Shulton version.

Great Maca root Slant shave! You’re a better man than me as far as slants go, Barry! I sold mine. Is there a difference between a slant shave and a J stroke with a non-slant safety razor? Enjoy your shaves? :)
