Today, I used two new additions to my collection: Mike's Bay Rum and the MÜHLE R102. The razor was an excellent Black Friday deal ($14.85) and I decided to add the Mike's soap to the order based on its reputation here on the 30DC. After my first run today, I'd say the fine reputations of the soap and razor are well deserved.

First off, the soap smells amazing. It is similar to the B&M Bay Rum, but with less of the orange scent.
The performance was outstanding in all the departments - slickness, protection, lather stability and post shave skin feel.

I've never used a MÜHLE R41 head and the only difference with this R102 is the color of the handle. I must say that the razor provided one of the most efficient first passes in my shave memory. The second pass almost felt like a cleanup pass. Overall, I am impressed with its performance and I will be using it for the next few shaves.

2 passes provided a very comfortable and uber-efficient shave this morning with no irritation or mishaps. I even implemented the XTG/ATG pass on my lower neck and felt no resistance or pluckiness.

Two great additions to your den, Andrew. The R41 has some serious blade exposure and that you had a good first shave with it says a lot about your technique. It took me a 30 day rule with mine to not bleed with every shave. Now, I can ride the safety bar and keep all of my skin intact. The Mike's Bay Rum was sold out last time I was on his site, so good for you grabbing a puck. The scent pairs very well with the Grand Bay and all traditional Bay Rum soaps. Mike's lathers easily and performs well beyond its price point.
I will say that the older versions of the Barrister and Mann Bay Rum are less orange-heavy. Not sure if you are using the excelsior base.

Thank you guys. Andrew I was unable to get the rapid test at Walgreens or a test at CVS through the weekend. So I scheduled the test with Fulton County which is saying 24-72 hours. I hope they do a better job with the test results than they did counting votes.
