Sorry to hear about your dept’s slump, but it is understandable in these times! Suicides and depression are off the charts. I like to take comfort from my shaves, cause there sure as heck isn’t much else out there to celebrate these days! Nice Hawk shave, Evan! You should try a Vector or Colonial General some time! Both are awesome AC safety razors!

Thanks, Andrew, for clearing that up! I ditched and sold the original R41 chrome handle, and replaced it with a Weber handle! Much better feel in hand than the original. It’s a phenomenal dome shaver! :)

I’ve green-themed photo, Chris! The majority of my brushes are boars. You’re spot on; they’re great lather machines! :)

Your incredibly expensive shave hatchet is growing on me, Joe! The scales are beautiful! JR builds great brushes; I own four (two boars, a synth and a Silvertip Badger along with a straight razor stand and a 15 safety razor stand. He is a supremely talented artisan! Glad your shave went well! At this point 7/8 is about it for me, although I have been eying a W&B FBU 8/8. I’ll have to wait and see! What I do know is that I’m a confirmed vintage straight and safety razor guy! Enjoy your shaves! :)

It's a straight forward bay rum - no clove, no fruits, etc. Night and day difference from my only other Bay Rum aftershave, Clubman VIBR.
There's also no orifice reducer on the bottle, so you have to put a finger over the top when dispensing unless you want your patented "Niagara Falls" pour. ;)
At $18 for an 8oz bottle, it is an excellent value as well.

Thank you Jeff! I hope to enjoy Mad Max for many years. Vintage straight razors are where it is at for the history, craftmanship and great shaves. Most of my straights are vintage and I take pride in them. My favorite vintage is my Henckel's Friodur. I am glad that you have the C-Mon because that is also a great razor. Anytime you can pickup a Herder, Henckel's or a Wostenholm, chances are that you will have a great razor.

I’m a big fan of very early Sheffield razors and Japanese razors. Steel wise I really like some seemingly obscure brands like Thistle Cut, Genco and Cattaraugus based on recommendations from my son and Glen Mercurio. They are great shavers! But I’m open to trying other brands. My son Ben has many of the Solingen razors you mentioned. :)
