Not sue if you all will remember but a few months ago I was on here talking about my Boss and how much of a jerk he is. Well after a major argument on Saturday he and I decided it was time to have a meeting and talk things over. He asked me to be honest with him and I told him how I felt and that I was frustrated with how things were going at work. We ended up talking things through and I thought we were making progress toward a better understanding of each other. When the meeting was over he handed me my final paycheck (which was written before the meeting) and told me I was fired.

SO now I am not sure what I am going to do. I am already way behind on bills and the job market is not so good around here right now. I will have to cut back on alot of things and internet is probably the first thing to go. I hope that I will be able to checkin on TSD from time to time.

    Aylo everyone... back to civilization.

    How is my day?
    • I stopped to get my car's emission tested to renew my car tags. But the state emission testing site is closed on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Oh yeah, they will be closed tomorrow for the elections as well. Ugh
    • Daughter threw major tantrums last night at refused to say even "trick-or-treat", "Happy Halloween", or even the dreaded "Thank You". She is getting back to not wanting anything to do with other people. The joy of Aspergers.
    • I picked up a bunch of Halloween supplies at the clearance sales today. Retail therapy?
    • After several days off of shaving, I couldn't get a decent lather
    • I sliced my nose with an SE and a fresh Pella blade
    • I discovered my teacher's license expired in October - not December. When did that happen?
    • I can't get into my classroom to grade projects, the plumbing is being chemically shocked.

Sorry Jason, I only have some hybrid super adjustables and they aren't quite 100% working order

Do you guys realize how close we came to having this instead of the crappy Superman Returns movie?

I can't decide which is worse.

it's like Tron took place on Krypton, and there was a plot to steal 50 cars in one night

wow! I have not seen Superman Returns, but if Nic Cage in a flourescent Superman suit is just about as good, then I'm going to avoid it at all costs.

It still amazes me that Nic Cage/ Cuppola went from decent indie actor to horrible film killing presence. How'd he do that? Just stick his name on any film these days and it's guaranteed to be 10 times worse than you would have thought.

and then this plane full of ex-cons lead by John Malcovich crashed on top of everything, which is followed by slo-mo shots of Cage flipping his hair over his shoulder while cars and small children explode in giant fiery bursts in the background.

    Behold the power of Bruckheimer!

Sadly, I like some of his more recent movies. I for one enjoyed Ghost Rider when everyone else thought it was dreck.

Insert your own witty statements. (let the wookie win, etc).

I don't think that's it- Bruckheimer's output is equal amounts of junk and awesome. Althought I note he's connected with Michael Bay, so I may have to revise my opinion to account for Bay's negative baggage.

Interesting tidbit from the Wiki on Bruckheimer: He has also acquired the rights to produce a movie based on the popular role playing game by Palladium Books, Rifts.

I wonder what that would look like? Could be awesome, could be the equivalent of the Wicker Man pt. II: this time with more Cage!

    now THAT's a Distraction Girl!

The fact that an electric Superman was "in vogue" during the 90's is very disturbing.

"Chewie and I will check it out, you two stay here."

"I don't think the Empire had Wookiees in mind when they designed her, Chewie"

"Great, Chewie, great! Always thinkin' with your stomach."

I didn't know anything about this "electric superman" before today and I thought I was up-to-date in the '90s. It is very disturbing and I'm glad that movie never got made.
