It is a rare substandard shave for you, Maestro! However, tomorrow is another shave and I am sure things will get back to your normal, super shaves. Makd it a great day!

Thank you Joe, and you do the same. Today's shave was just a "Johnny One-Note", but I'll be back with it again in the future.

Challenging shave for sure. Regarding the missus’ comment: Glass half full or half empty? She is not sure which could mean eventually she will come around to it or not. She would probably say, “It’s a woman’s prerogative.” ;)

    December 13th
    Razor: RR Lupo Aluminum
    Blade: Astra SS (1)
    Brush: Grizzly Bay BlackStar
    Pre-shave: PAA Cube
    Soap: PAA Will-O'-the-Wisp
    PAA Galactic Witch Hazel
    PAA Star Jelly
    AS: PAA Will-O'-the-Wisp

    Good morning!

The Razorock Lupo isn't ugly but it is challenged in the aesthetics department. Wonderful shaving razor though. I prefer the Aluminum over the SS. Just feels more nimble to me.

    Have a great day!

No ugly razor shave for me this morning. A beautiful morning here on LI with warm temperatures and clear skies. Mother Nature does have a sense of humor as it looks like we are in the bullseye for a strong Nor’easter with a wallop of snow to boot. My right shoulder is not going to like this.

I was up early this morning doing the final prep, second rise, for the brioche I began to make yesterday afternoon. I made two loaves of Italian bread as well. One of the loaves will go to my mother when Anthony and I go for a visit this afternoon. The second loaf was part of Anthony’s breakfast as he requested, “Can I have some of Dad’s famous bread.”

After a quick shower, I proceeded to have a wonderful three pass shave. The Cella continues to perform and pairs well with the Black Cherry aftershave. The CV H straight is a beautiful razor I obtained from Glen, @gssixgun, last year. It is a phenomenal razor.
Hope you all have a great day.

@Trigger - Get your shovel ready my friend.

    Sunday's Shave

Ugly Razor + Dollar Tree December (One Day Only)

    Assured Razor / GEM 1912
Assured Blade (1) / GEM SS PTFE (1)
    Personal Care Men Shave Cream
Assured for Men Fresh Scent Aftershave

I've been wanting to try these Dollar Tree products for a while, so I'm combining them today with my ugly razor shave. The GEM 1912 is a wonderful razor, however this example is missing a lot of plating on the top cap from, what looks like, many years of service. It was my best candidate for the ugly razor choice.

Total cost for the Assured razor, 5 blades, shave cream and aftershave was $3.00.
The GEM 1912 was part of a razor lot collection that I bought a couple years ago, so I wasn't paying for it in particular.

The shave cream is non-lathering. I tried to use a brush but it did not affect the lather at all. So, hand application it was today.
Passes 1 and 3 were with the DE and pass 2 was reserved for the GEM 1912. Overall, it was a pretty decent shave. There was plenty of slickness and the cream had a slight touch of menthol. Because of the lather's consistency, I had to rinse the razor more than usual to keep it from clogging.

In the end, it was a very close shave overall with no irritation or mishaps. My face does not feel dry and the aftershave scent was gone after about 30 minutes. The DE blade felt smooth and sharp and the pot metal razor did it's job holding the blade. This is a basic shave that simply worked well.

Should I find myself away from home, without a lot of coin in my pocket and in need of some basic shaving gear, I'm confident I can stop by the local Dollar Tree and be in good hands.
