    Ugly Razor Day

    Razor: Gillette Tech w/ black bakelite handle
    Blade: Gillette Nacet
    Brush: MrEE #6
    SS: Proraso Green
    AS: Osage Rub

    Ugly razor day is an interesting idea. As you guys know, ugly razors get stripped and replated at my house. This bakelite razor came in a lot of razors and has just sat on a shelf since I got it. It's one of those I keep just to have, but I had never shaved with it before today.

    I'm not as much a fan of the tech shave. A little too mild for me, which is why I went with a Nacet. The extra sharp blades make maximum use of the minimal blade gap and exposure.

    Of course I picked one of my uglier brushes.

    I got a good shave with these tools which does suggest looks aren't everything.

    I agree with you that Techs are mild shavers - one of the reasons they were so successful! Great shave, Evan! Osage Rub is my stuff! Isn’t it great! Enjoy your evening and your shaves! :)

    Well we've got a razor that refuses to tame eh??
    The cap isn't set right?
    It's hard to blame technique on a poor razor.
    Good luck on it.
    I've had issues with some, still get them tamed eventually.

    You’re spot on, Terry! I plan on spending some time on my son’s belt grinder with that darned top cap. If I can even out the blade exposure that’s most of the battle! :cool:

    Wonderful Goodwill shave Gary! I know there are a lot of different variants out there, but the Goodwill razors I've tried have been excellent! :) Your collection is a wonder.

    Yup, that is ugly. I didn’t shave today, Danny, but if I did it would have been with my beat up MMOC. Not the prettiest razor, imho, when shiny and definitely in need of some good PR in this state.

    The funny thing about this challenge is I threw out my Baili BR131 this week. We often try to declutter right before Christmas to make room for all the new stuff. Danny was maybe a day late with his challenge. Nice dollar store shave Andrew! I'm glad it turned out okay.
