Reading the interesting research about eating right for your blood type, and trying to soothe my awful Gem razor burn from this morning.

It's been awhile since I've been in the den. Things have not been good the last few weeks. The nerve damage in my hands flared up to start things off, then on my b-day my niece had a bad car wreck. I happened to be outside, saw her leave and heard the accident, by the time I made it to the scene, 2 minutes tops, there was already a paramedic on scene. She was bleeding internally, had a cut liver, several broken ribs, broken pelvis a cut on her forehead and glass in her face. A week after that my father had a pacemaker put in and is now recuperating. Dad & I kinda watch out for each other anyway, but now I'm really watching out for him. Not complaining, things could've been worse all the way around.

This was a 94 Nissan Maxima 4 door, and this is what it looks like after being hit by a 1 ton flatbed at 70 mph.

No, this picture isn't flipped, that is the passenger door next to the steering wheel.

Thanks guys, my hands haven't stopped hurting, but they aren't bothering me like they were lol. My Niece is recovering very quickly, she may be home in another few days.

The way things happened was truly a miracle. First the paramedic was on her way home and saw it happen, so she had it called in before they stopped rolling.Like I said, I was there not 2 minutes after I heard it, and she was already working.(Talk about nightmares, I didn't sleep a wink that night, I'd drift off and wake up hearing the screams). Next the chopper was only 2 minutes away in Locust Grove, rather than the normal 15-30 minutes (I"ve heard 15-20, and as much as 30) in Claremore. Third, and the biggest one (to the family anyway) is that normally her younger sister, who is 11, would've been with her. If anyone else had been in that car they wouldn't be here.

My niece is still on a chest tube,as her lung still hasn't healed (She had a collapsed lung from the multiple broken ribs), but I think once that is healed they will probably send her to therapy and then home. Their original estimate was 6 weeks in the hospital. The wreck happened on Oct.27th, which will be 2 weeks tomorrow.

Keep me in your prayers also, this Friday, the 12th, is my disability hearing. The Lawyer says that he's won cases with less evidence than mine, but for reasons neither of us can understand,we were turned down by the same judge last time.

Woah I guess I won't say anything about me at all.
But hope everyone comes out of all of this with nothing but the ability to laugh later on.
I was in a crash years ago and it was the only thing that helped me and I still had three weeks of AIT before graduation. Granted 23 years later my shoulder still twinges in the cold from time to time.

    Consider yourselves lucky.

Though, the only reason I know who she is is because I'm sometimes too lazy to find the remote and turn off TMZ.
