well, that's lends itself a whole 'nuther question: is it still considered a "package" if there's no pants, and thus "unpackaged"?

Hey fellow Netflixers, what do you think about this? I'm having a hard time turning off my distrust, but this sounds cool.

Took some change to the bank, made a quick $65 :bounce017

THEN I ordered my first DE razor...a Merkur 38C! Also got the 'letterk' sampler blade pack and an EJ best badger brush! To top it off, I threw in some Kiss My Face cream to get me started. I can't wait!

You should enjoy the 38C, I love mine. But one thing to keep in mind, is there have been folks have issues with blade alignment. I don't believe it's a huge problem, but just something to be aware of.
The blade sampler pack is an excellent choice. I always advise trying as many different kinds of blades as possible. Set some aside and try them again a few months later, you never know if that blade you don't like now might become your favorite a little ways down the road.
And also keep in mind when/if your razor collection grows, different blades behave differently in different razors.
I can't comment on the brush, never used that particular one, but the KMF cream is some good stuff.

Thanks. I went with the Merkur despite some of the wishy-washy things I have heard. I'm a firm believer that there are 'lemons' in any product, and generally with things like this, it's the people that DO have problems are most likely to speak up. Out of the few people I've seen complain, I'm sure there are hundreds of satisfied users (As I've seen plenty of those, too). So I'm not too worried.

I will definitely 'kick the tires' with my blades and see how it goes. I'm anxious for this transition from a cartridge to a safety razor.

I have heard good things about Edwin Jagger, as well as badger brushes, so I'm sure they make a good combination!
