If you say so. Perhaps my taste buds were a little cloudy at the time.

just finished watching Iron Man (yes, for the first time)

    some observations:

    * much better than I was expecting. yes, I've heard nothing but very positive, but still....not sure what I expected, but it was quite good, I thought

    * the viewing setup: Netflix, wireless to my laptop, connected to 42" TV
    * the viewing experience: for the majority of the movie, forgot it was being streamed over DSL, through router to laptop, easily could have been mistaken for a DVD - picture quality great, no hiccups/buffering issues, excellent

yeah, about finishing painting the living room.....:ashamed001

Well, being the kind of sick, demented personal stats freak that I can be sometimes, I gave in and let it connect to my netflix account--it gives you all kinds of stats about your netflix viewing habits, and extra info on the items in your queue, like when your instant queue movies are going to expire, and so forth. Very fascinating stuff.

Apparently, the cost breakdown on my habits right now, is I'm paying about $2 a DVD add instant watch to that and it comes out to about .13 (Yes 13 cents!) a movie. Not too shabby, I figure. I'm averaging about a 5 to 6 day turnaround on DVDs, which isn't too good, but I've been pretty busy lately, that'll likely change. I'm using the fire out of streaming though. Looks like only about 23% of feedflix users are paying less to watch movies on netflix than I am. I can live with that.

    ahh, cool

and now, ladies and gents, that concludes (with the potential tiny touchups) the application of paint to the living room, including trim.

I'd like to thank my sponsors....too bad I have none, or they'd get mentioned here.

Now all's left is to hang to hang-y stuff back up, put the furniture back where it goes (TV, as context clues would indicate, has already been taken care of :D)

    g'nite y'all!

I was surprised too. Robert Downey Jr. was really good in that role. I watched it a while back, when my son was somewhere around 3. I tried watching some of the non-violent scenes with him and he freaked at a scene where Stark is working on the nuclear reactor in his chest. Totally caught me off guard.

In other news, the household had a stomach virus yesterday. There's nothing like waking up to your daughter crying, running to her half awake, and then getting puked on when you pick her up. She felt better, though.

When you're running on about 3 hours of sleep, this is not the sort of thing you want to see:

Robert Downey Jr. was born to play that role. Tony Stark is a charming, rich, alcoholic pretty-boy who everyone loves in-spite of his constant attempts at alienating himself professionally from his friends and family. Sounds about right, to me.

What a day so far! I have made my pie crusts and they are chilling in the fridge, I'll make those before bed tonight. Caramel Apple and Strawberry/Rhubarb.

The buttermilk cornbread is made and resting on the counter for the dressing. Jeff keeps doing drive-by's ... it's intact so far.

The turkey is taking a long soak in some white wine and briny goodness with lots of aromatics ... He'll go in the roaster first thing in the morning ...

I LOVE this time of year!! :D:D:D
