Maestro, you need to develop a greater appreciation for a beautiful patina! I accept that you and Jim prefer shiny and new, but there really is something to be said about a use patina! I almost feel like a caretaker for many of my vintage razors, both straight and safety! I wonder what sort of stories they could tell if they were able! Not so much for the shavettes! Enjoy your day!

Late morning shave following making breakfast for the family, a workout and baking chocolate chip cookies. As a result I decided to do a rare two pass shaves since we have plans to visit my mother and hit an outlet mall. As luck would have it, it is now snowing. The forecast calls for a change to rain. We shall see.

Given a two pass shave, the results where excellent with no incidents and a very silent alum report.
    Have a great day gentlemen.

Terrific shave Joe! The cocobolo scales are much darker than my cocobolo scales on my Ralf Aust. I prefer your scales.

very cool Charlie..when i bought my 2 mustangs, the 07 i traded in and got a ranger pick up,i was a mechanic at the ford dealership.my sales manager buddy told the sales person not to bother me with all the jargon and just get the papers ready..in and out/plated/owned in an hour..it was harder buying new jeans..:).also paid near cost not retail..

That sounds great, Gary. I purchased my last car at a family-owned used car lot in our hometown. The owner home schools his kids, and they all work in the business. Our saleslady was a high school senior. The lot manager was her older brother. The car was 3 years old with 30,000 miles, but you could mistake it for new. They get their cars at auction (most of them are lease cars), detail them, and send them to a local service center for scheduled maintenance. They price them fairly (published on-line, no negotiating), provide all the service records, you're buying from a sweet family, and the deal goes smoothly. Zero shenanigans. They get a great selection of cars, and the good ones sell off the lot within hours. You have to watch the website daily. When you see a car you want, they will hold it with a phone call until you can come see it that day. We'll buy our next car from them if they remain in business. They put the big dealerships to shame, in my humble opinion.

    Seiko Kamisori
    Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements Star Jelly
Art of Shaving Cologne Intense - Green Lavender

Took a handful of blades on a touch up session Friday evening....a few passes on a finishing hone, followed by a brief 14k/50k/100k/200k pasted strop session. This NOS Seiko is scaringly sharp again, 3 full passes today to a nice BBS finish. Couple upper lip weepers, barely a blip of the thought process as they were just dots really. Fun to maneuver, this traditional asymmetrical grind Kamisori I use both sides like a traditional grind straight. @MrEE's Green Machine.....a lathering beast with the Simpson Trafalgar T2 synthetic knot in it. Super solid hand feel with Evan's work...just don't drop this hulk (which I did while wifey was in the area at the same time of my shave), cause it makes a very solid thunk onto counter tile. Glad it didn't land on a tool or a toe, but more importantly (to wifey) no chip on the counter! Between the T2 knot and BAUME.BE shaving cream, easily 5-6 passes worth of Uber creamy thick slick lather. Excellent nourishing face feel during and after the shave. Finished with PAA's Star Jelly followed by AoS's Green Lavender 'Cologne Intense'. A wifey super approved fragrance. It's a very bright (like a fresh green apple/citrus) lavender, one that lasts all day for me, love catching whiffs of it.

Hope everyone has a Sensational Sunday!
