The TSD Iced Lemongrass Shave Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #340 Badger. Two passes and touch ups with the Ever-Ready Lather Catcher with a Personna GEM SS PTFE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Citrus Musk EdC. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Sunday Schick shave, Dec 20 2020

Razor: Schick E2 injector, Canadian variant- Mfg 1930's 40's, excellent mid range, very nimble in the hand to move over the face.
Blade: Personna SS PTFE (6) very sharp, smooths out nicely and has great longevity.
Soap: Razorock Lavender- nice scent with excellent lather qualities. One of favorite Razorock soaps.
Brush: Yaqi Artic Sky 24mm knot- excellent lather creator with heavenly cloud like tips for a painting. Nice gentle scrubber.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock King Louis Aftershave with witch hazel + a dollop of Nivea balm.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + minor irritation + no weepers = excellent shave with my Schick E2 injector, Canadian variant.

Parker adjustable injector, (S)chick injector blade, shave 3


Set the adjustment to 3 this time. BBS finish but not a glass like finish when set at 5 also almost no weepers at this setting. The razor with practice if you are not familar with injectors should get an even closer shave at this setting for people with less thick and coarse hair then I have.

Next up to try a Personna blade in this razor set at 5 and see if that impacts the performance in anyway. Depending how that works out then a final shave set 3 with the same blade.

So much better today with a fresh blade, what on earth possessed me to try and remove 3days growth with a blade past its best. Nearly as bad trying to visit the Supermarket today, I drove in and straight out-Is the World coming than end ?.

 

Parker adjustable injector, Personna injector blade, shave 1


Razor set at 5. What a difference a blade makes and not in a good way in this case. Shave was much milder and with no weepers than with a Schick blade on the same setting. Overall closeness wasn't even close with a less than BBS finish. This razor is definitely a blade dependent razor and requires a sharp blade to get the most out of it. Razor is a keeper and high performer but only with Schick injector blades. Maybe that might change if you have fine and non coarse hair but that I can't test on my face.

 

Took a 7-day old beard off with a P-74 loaded and on it's 2nd shave. The razor gave me a smooth comfortable shave. I think it's a Tad milder than a Schick L-injector. It's a nice razor.

The P-74 blades are also nothing like the modern Personnas. They are much better blades that were actually designed in mind for shaving. The modern ones are designed for medical use and shaving is an afterthought. They happen to work is the extent of it.

Schicks are better than the modern Personnas. I like them in my vintage Pal, and Schick Injector Razors. Personnas don't seem as sharp, or as smooth to me.
