So, I realize this deviates slightly from using the same razor, soap, and brush for December, but only slightly. My wife now has what is left of my Stirling Christmas Eve. I'll order more if they still have it in stock. She asked about it and I just can't say no to her. Besides, it gives me a great excuse to use Captain's Choice Nor'Easter soap that just arrived today. I like the aftershave so much that I really had to buy the soap eventually. I did use the same brush and razor though. I also added another item from Captain's that arrived today, the standard copper lather bowl. It is absolutely fantastic! I have to admit though, it took a bit for me to remember how to bowl lather, since I hadn't done so in months, if not more than a year. It turned out to be a very enjoyable shave. As long as you get a good amount of exercise every week that's fine. I abhorred gym classses from elementary through college. It took me 60 yrs to realize walking wasn't going to do it for me because I was obese category 1. The gym gives me the structured outlet that I need and it gives me another dimension to my social life. My membership is up on Feb. 4th and I will not renew it because I can go there for free on my Silver Sneakers membership. As long as I have Silver Sneakers, I will never have to pay for a gym membership again. Yearly savings is 360 dollars. I love it.
That is one pretty, shiny razor, Maestro! I’m glad your shave went well! Take care and enjoy your shaves!
Very fine setup, Chris! I haven't been on the Stirling site in awhile, but I think they may have it in stock.
You know, Jeff, I never really got bit by RAD, but this one really spoke to me. So far, I like the shaves it provides.
Maestro, Glen Mercurio believes that Thistle Cut razors are one of the best kept secrets. They possess an extremely fine-grained steel unique to the Central NY region capable of easily taking and holding a 30k Shapton edge. And even better, they’re cheap! I own two. Great shavers!
I just ordered her two new tubs. That should last her a while. Chris - enjoying learning, whatever the subject
That’s amazing to me, Joseph! I have an extremely limited software collection with no real interest in scents. Now steel is another matter entirely! As an active sportsman and hunter for most of my life, I’ve always had a keen interest in sharp things, both the tools and the process of getting them into that state. I believe Ben is either going to give me his Shapton glass progression or buy me my own for Christmas. We’ll see! Enjoy the holidays!
I may try it in summer...just for the "feeling". You're right-Stoylin Spice(or any clone of Old Spice)is a babe-magnet.
I don't have the shave stick. @Droo78 Andrew said the shave stick scent is just a clean natural scent. Between the soap and the aftershave, the aftershave is the real star. The scent is intoxicating with excellent post shave feel. However, it is not an overpowering scent
