    December 22 SOTE

    Good evening guys!

    Rockwell Model T Razor (4)
    Rockwell DE Blade (2)
    Jayaruh #386 Silvertip Badger Brush
Stirling Christmas Eve SS and AS
    Dickenson's Unscented WH (not pictured)
Nivea for Men ASB (not pictured)
    Whiskers: 30 hrs

Ok, this is the same setup as yesterday's shave, but I added the Nivea ASB

The JR #386 produced a beautiful lather with very little soap running down the handle. I always loved this brush, but since I figured how to be efficient with it, I love it more.
    Stirling is Stirling! Enough said!

I decided to dial back the razor's setting to 4 because my skin really took a beating yesterday. It is the first time that I have shaved on this setting with T. I only did 2 passes and got an IBSS+ shave. I did have to do more buffing than usual, but it is to be expected at this lower setting. Got a weep at the chin tip, but it wasn't a biggie. I attribute it to being unfamiliar with this setting and placed too much pressure to compensate for it. Previously, the lowest setting that I used was 5. I am glad that I used setting 4 because it showed me that I can get a good shave with it. However, I would not attempt to shave on this setting with 2 days growth. Applied the witch hazel, the aftershave balm and the matching aftershave to finish this shave. This ends the double-duty tour with the Rockwell Model T. Tomorrow will be a no shave day and Thurs will be the return of Mad Max which is my most decadent razor. Have a great evening guys! 20201221_095143.jpg

Super fun Chris! The green scales are very pretty. Also....the CC copper shave bowl, really interested in how the patina looks over time. Is it coated to begin with?

That video was great! Learned a lot myself. Thanks @Primotenore It's a good thing he wasn't selling igloos (those snow things)....cause I'd just have a boatload of water here in Texas.

    Great setup and report Joe!

Thanks! I can't tell if anything is done to coat the bowl. I will say that Scott at Captain's has been great at answering questions. If you contact him through his website you should get an answer within a reasonable time.

Chris - enjoying learning, whatever the subject

@JACarbone , I have the shave stick and aftershave and they are not the same, but the stick is neutral enough (clean/fresh) to go with about anything. I don't have the puck to compare to the stick...yet. :D
I agree with Clint about the aftershave - it is excellent in many ways.

My goal since my early 40's has been to outrun the metabolic issues my father has (none of my grandparents had metabolic issues). Dad had his first heart attack at 48 (diet). I'm now 54....so far so good. While overweight, the blood work, other numbers and tests from the doc hasn't resulted in any additional meds...just a careful, 'Keep doing what you are doing' comment. Only meds are for asthma, in the grand scheme of things, it's a minor dosage, working to keep it that way.

Exercise for me has never been social. Nearly every exercise activity/hobby I've ever enjoyed is a solitary one, save for the occasional walking/hiking with wifey. We found a way to enjoy biking together.....have 2 tandems, one a city style mountain bike cruiser, the other a road style touring bike. 48mph on our road tandem (sweeping curves downhill) on a metric century we did had her smiling for days.

    Tuesday's Shave

    AutoStrop VC1
    Despined GEM S/S PTFE (3)
    The Crazy Badger Two-Band
    Tabac Shaving Soap
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Tabac Aftershave

This morning, I decided it was time for another Tabac Tuesday. The ensuing excellent lather produced proved I made a wise choice.

2 passes with the VC1 provided a comfortable and efficient shave this morning with no irritation or mishaps.
