SOTD WEDNESDAY MORNING, DECEMBER 23, 2020

It’s a brilliant, cold, sunny day here in the western Philadelphia burbs. Lots of pre-Christmas tasks, most prominent of which is to make more Hungarian Kifli pastry cookies for my three year old grandson, Nate, who will be spending Christmas Eve with us. I selected my favorite straight razor for this morning’s three pass (WTG, ATG, XTG) mug shave, the Manhattan Cutlery French Point 13/16. The Ever Ready Streamline delivered my two pass (ATG, ATG) dome shave. I'm not sure what it is about this straight razor. Every stroke of the shave was smooth and crisp leaving me velveteen smooth. The noggin shave was every bit as good. The top of one bump was removed, but there was no need for styptic after the alum rub. I feel clean, velveteen smooth, and refreshed.

RAZOR: Manhattan Cutlery French Point 13/16 (Mug), Ever Ready Streamline (Dome)
    BLADE: Pella PTFE Gem
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: JR Custom Rosewood Silvertip Badger #378
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH and Osage Rub.

Super nice report, setup and image Danny! Even better is the extra family time since Wednesday = Friday for you.

Cool shave Jeff, enjoy seeing those two razors! Sounds like an absolute blast of a Christmas Eve is planned!

Very pleased with this morning's shave. I returned to the Stoylin Spice combo(soap&A.S.). 0:40 at the loading dock for the Maggard "Marble Handle"(24 mm.). This remains in a tie with the Jayaruh #59 for my most attractive brush. At 1st pass, the left cheek got the usual "Moist Bowl" treatment, while the rest of the face and neck got it a little dryier("it" being the soap). For the left side of Cactus Nation, I forgot to do the "A&DTG". What does that stand for. "Across&Down The Grain". I made sure to get it right for the other side. Talkinabout that other side, this time I conquered that area that has always given me fits. Yay! Nice&smooth up there. I drove("shaved")over a speed bump just below the jawline, left side, but interestingly(and thankfully)nothing bad showed for it. The aftershave was tingly again, but I've become used to it. Two winters ago, I wasn't. Feelings change over time. Outta This World Excellent.

I see you used Osage on your "brilliant cold sunny" day. Very brave of you. Or are you a member of the "Cold Shavers Bunch"(or whatever they call themselves)?

Trying to get orders organized on the MrEE Brushworks LE 2021.

Please don't consider yourself on the list until you see you name on the list. PM me with your requests.

I'll make other designs on here too, but they may get last priority. No obligation until we have a final price you have agreed to and the brush is ready to ship. The price should be right around $20 not more than $25. (I have this small fear I'll hit something unexpected such as a drastic increase in aluminum prices or short tool life.)

Right now the plan is to make 20 brushes for the LE with a second batch of 20 if somehow there is enough interest.

Wuchu talkin’ ‘bout, Bruce! I’m over 70 and look great in tight jeans. My hand to mouth Budweiser reps keep me in marvelous shape! Check out those abs! At 73 I’m a veritable ‘babe magnet’!
