SOTD SATURDAY MORNING, DECEMBER 26, 2020

This morning’s shave was much less pressured than yesterday’s. In the interest of variety, I rolled right back into my standard rotation and selected the reliable Puma 88 5/8 straight razor for the mug and the trusty Ronson safety razor for the dome. SWMBO left early this morning for a 60 mile bike ride. Since I’m still recovering from my broken ribs I was excused and freed up to use my Indian version of Old Spice AS which to my untrained nose smells virtually the same as my hoarded Shelton original version.

The MrEE Knurled Aluminum Handle hybrid knot #007 is and has been one of my favorites since it’s arrival in my den. It possesses just the right combination of backbone and softness to generate the two types of lather I enjoy for my shaves. The thinner, wetter face lather was just perfect for the Puma which sheared away my mug whiskers easily. I removed the twin blade from the Ronson and loaded the usual Schick Proline B-20 injector blade. The resulting yogurty, bowl-lathered dome shave with this wonderful, head-heavy little safety razor was exactly as expected. I feel clean, velveteen smooth, refreshed, and smell - yes 30DC unbelievers - good!

RAZOR: Puma 88 5/8 (Mug), Ronson Safety Razor (Dome)
    BLADE: Schick Proline B-20 Injector
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: MrEE Knurled Aluminum Handle Hybrid Knot #007
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Cremo Cooling Post Shave Balm and Old Spice Original (Indian Version).

Happy Boxer Day folks. Up early this morning. A bright, chilly morning here on Long Island. Therefore, a scent that provides a feeling of warmth seems to be a good call.

A three pass shave left my face feeling smooth. This shave required a little bit of buffing as the blade met the bin upon the completion of this shave.
I have been very busy the past few days displaying my culinary talents this I am way behind in viewing the quality shaves on the thread. More importantly, I hope you have had an enjoyable Christmas with your family.

    Have a great day gentlemen.

I had intended to get moving earlier this morning. Better late than never, I suppose. The CH2 synthetic did a wonderful job lathering the La Toja shave cream. Three passes and touch ups ended in a drama free BBS shave. A splash of La Toja aftershave and I am off to work. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

Real nice shave this morning, featuring Oud Wood(different brands). 0:40 at the loading dock for the Stoylin No-Name brush to get all dressed with the Razorock Tuscan Oud soap. I do need to dry out the brush better before diving in. That very first application to my skin(left cheek area)is quite moist, then it eventually shows the soap better as I proceed painting. I remembered to paint Cactus Nation with the proper angling action(think of your neck as a Y.....the top lines being at an angle over the bottom line, which covers the Adam's Apple area). 2 solid passes. No cuts/Knicks. Always a good sign, that :). The first pour of the Agadir A.S. went all over the place- ala Aqua Velva-therefore I had to be more careful with the next one. I like having these 2 different "formulas" of Oud Wood.. Outta This World Excellent.
