just read an article on lifehacker about saving money by making your own laundry detergent, and my first thought was "Micah does that".....

...then I got to the comments :rofl

I've tried making my own laundry soap after Bill mentioned it to me. It was a liquid version. Think I'll do the powder version next.

I'd love to try it, but our washer is HE, not sure if there's a high-effiiency DIY homemade detergent out there....guess I should stretch out my google-fu, but I'm about to call it bed time for the night

The powder version is what we do... pretty quick to make, and it works a real treat. I'd give you the recipe, but I'm at my in-law's place and don't have it handy. It's basically a big box of baking soda, a half a box of borax, and a bar of finely grated soap of your choice. We add a few drops of essential oil for flavor--usually mint, orange, or citronella. We've done lavender and cedar before as well and they work great, too!

As much as it'd be useful, I'm not really a "cloud" guy. I already rely on goodreads to keep track of my book collection, and that sort of bothers me. DVDspot shutting down really turned me off the whole cloud computing thing. That's why the ChromeOS doesn't appeal to me any more than it does, I think.

yeah, I hear ya. But both of those have been incredibly useful. I don't depend on them at all, everything is at least on a flash drive, but those are incredibly convenient, and free. Springpad is one I've heard great things about at LH, but haven't gotten around to trying it yet, although I have downloaded it to my phone already :D

of course, I'm also being a bit facetious there, if you don't have your entire digital collection stored in DB or Evernote, you would never think to upload your soap recipe before you left so you could share it :D

yeup, I understand, I do that a lot too.

but, with a smartphone and Evernote.....:D

but seriously, what STE did you use? Carbon-based erasable, or ink-based permanent?

Liquidized pigment with a spherical delivery mono-array.

Coincidentally, I posted a pic of the wrong grinder earlier. This is the one my brother got me: [IMG]

I'm strongly considering using my Christmas money to buy a scythe. Somebody talk me out of it. I've never had any luck with weedeaters, and I feel like a scythe would work better for me.

    Fell down the stairs. :ashamed001

Once I managed to pick myself up off the floor, came upstairs and took some Advil. Hopefully, I won't be in too much pain tomorrow.

    Thanks, Bill!

I'm actually attempting to avoid sleep. I know how much I hurt upon waking up normally. Add a short fall (thank goodness) down the stairs, and I am pretty sure I don't wanna find out.

    Futile, I know, but <shrug>

I'm vascillating between "that's full of awesome" and "they're ripping off my youth." Not sure which one will win out.
