    Nice! Looks like some Gillette prewar Tech lather channel inspiration going on there.

    Got them sorted out @jluc

    Original is the .68
    (-) is the .71
    (+) is the .88
    (++) is the 1.08

    The new - (mild) baseplate sounds interesting. The standard baseplate has the most exposure with a .68 gap. I prefer the ++, it has the widest gap but less exposure than the standard and the + baseplate. Riding the cap gives a very smooth shave with the ++, more so than the standard. I haven't tried the + or the - baseplate. I'll join you on Monday with my Carbon.

    Yup, took the picture using the new light box. Your photos appear that you use a light box as well?

    Thanks Dave. They were yummy! No worries, my Bride is the real sports fan in our house. She follows both teams. Being from PA, you're just not used to having good sports teams. :happy097:
    Thanks Jeff. Scents of BBQ ribs, sausage balls, party mix, and Tabac shave lather wafted all through the house today.

    Thanks Clint. I hope you get some downtime and good rest this evening.

    No light box, just sunshine from the windows and a black poster board sloping down from two stacked pillows. ;)
    Simple, but doesn't work as well without the sun. That's why I am intrigued by the light box idea.

    My go to was a black towel draped over a cardboard box next to a window. And you're right, only a good option during the day.

    I don’t see any cracks in the blade! Not familiar with the maker, but it should clean up. For $20 I’ve sourced cleaner blades, but if it speaks to you, go for it! Some XXX Fine Steel Wool should take care of a lot of it with some elbow grease. I’d steer clear of Dremels or any power tool for cleaning up the blade, as you risk losing the temper of the steel. I’d start with the steel wool and then some 1-3k grit sand paper.

    A relaxed, late afternoon shave. Another day with the NI. Swapped out the blade as it felt a little rough yesterday. Yup that was the culprit. A great smelling 2 pass shave with an outstanding lather. A little added menthol to the splash, just because.
    Have a great night all!
