Well... I will admit to being rather torqued about a prank gift that I received once that was very inappropriate and disrespectful. But I never let on how insulting the gift was. At least I don't think I gave it away...
well, there's a difference between "inexpensive" and "inappropriate/disrespectful". Sometimes you have to consider who it's coming from, their possible situation at the time, and realize something that seems cheap to you may have been all they could afford and was a bit of a sacrifice. If it was well thought out, but "cheap", gratefulness and thankfulness should win out and be more important that an object. If it was inappropriate, gratefulness should put on steel toes and kick 'em where it counts....
Just got the 12 foot version of one of these at BigLots for $69! It's kind of sad that I'm a little excited about getting a new ladder, isn't it?
my day today was pretty good. I was not supposed to start working at Walmart until after the first of the month but they called me today and asked if it would be OK if I started tomorrow. I said - OK? no it would be GREAT. I can start making money again! So why am I posting at almost 3:00 AM if I have to work in the morning? Well - because I can't freaking sleep because I feel like a kid starting his first job. HMMM I got some of those menthol crystals form Mynorx - maybe I will go into the den and experiment with those. I nice chilly shave may calm me down and then I can sleep. So excited! oh yea I almost forgot I got a New blood glucose meter and test strips in the mail today from some unknown person. That was cool to because now I have enough test strips to last me until next year! (well really two weeks - but it sounds cooler that way.
Not at all. I have a very similar ladder I paid about $10 more to get and find it very useful (though rarely use more than a couple positions).
no, not sad at all, that awesome! (except it's better than mine....) I really thought the one I got did more than adjustable step ladder/extension ladder, there's been several times the scaffolding feature would have been useful (Christmas lights along the roof line, anyone?), but I've been very happy with mine, as I'm sure you will be with yours hmmm, sounds like marriage...oh, wait
yep. it took me a while to understand that some folks want to be upset. In most cases, a gift is an expression of friendship. The focus should be on the thing represented, not on the thing itself. and then there's those times when the gift's an insult. then it's perfectly appropriate to get mad. as for ladders and the happiness they bring- it's a sure sign that you're married and growing older. I never though tools and such could make me smile, but I sure do like them now.
I didn't know you were diabetic. If I had know you needed test strips I could have helped. I'm glad someone knew, and sent them to you. Hope the first day is going well, and you got some rest beforehand. I like useful things, and that goes for presents too.
It's a ball. More specifically, it's a metal ball inside an acrylic ball, so it's reflective all over, combine it with some contact juggling skills and you can make it appear to float and glide around on your arms and stuff. In the right hands, it can be quite amazing.
How's Your Day? Dec. 27 - Jan 2 The New Year's HYD thread. What has everyone got planned? I'm spending a quiet evening with the wife drinking mulled pear wine.
Actually - I have to work. I will be doing a DJ gig with a friends DJ company which I agreed to do before I got the Job at Walmart. It is at a private home so it is not quite the same as working at a public venue. I am hoping to still have a nice night but to be honest it is not fun when everybody around you is getting wasted and your job is to keep the party atmosphere going. I guess you could say that I wish I did not agree to do it, but the cash will be good too.
