Great shave Myles! I never heard of the OS Hawkridge AS.

 

Very nice shave, Joe! My VDH safety razor is my least expensive toy and it does an adequate job.

 

Went back for a second look. Definitely see that after you pointing it out and now that I am well into a large tumbler of coffee halfway gone. The shadows are subtle and well diffused, as the reflective side bounces the light back. What dimensions are the box? That also plays into it, as well as the light output and color temperature. Do your lights have a switch or potentiometer control for brightness?

Fine shave this morning. 0:30 to load the Stoylin Pro-Handle(man that's a biiiiiig brush-course 26 mm. ain't Mickey Mouse). Although I got good face&neck coverage, I said to myself even before completing my first pass "Yer gunna need that second pass". Both passes went real well, although I somehow developed two small "red polkadots"(that's what I'll call harmless Knicks in the future-harmless in that they just SHOWED UP without any feeling). Central Texas Soaps loads with good power. The polkadots were in the same area as usual-what am I doing in that area to cause them..excess razor strength?? Anyway, I had enough for a third pass and should have gone for it, but after the second pas things felt smooth enough. I'd be a lousy You Tube video shaver, as I would say after the second pass what I just said here. To paraphrase the Williams kid, I'd say "I REALLY don't need to do a third pass y'know?" Why do I keep talkinabout that poor kid. I don't know. It was the first time I'd eve heard a NEGATIVE comment about a product while on live video. But anyway, back to talkinabout myself. The Week-end Rodeo(also CTS) aftershave comes on a bit sticky, but settles down after an hour or so. I suppose that is normal, as that must be how a rodeo crowd feels down there in Texas(unless it is done indoors with AC, pf course). Lotsa leather in that aftershave(and in the soap too, for that matter). Most Excellent.

 

The box is 2'x2' with two pair of led light strips, 5600k if I remember correctly. Dimmable in pairs. I leave one pair at full brightness. I'm doing point and shoot with my cellphone, handheld. It's pretty bright so I'm assuming I have fast shutter speed and a pinched down aperture for improved DOF although I haven't actually checked.

Thank you Gary....Y'know, the Weekend Rodeo aftershave is the only one of my aftershaves where it clearly says "Shake Bottle Many Times". I can see why-it's a thick A.S. Might need more than "many" next time(which will be tomorrow). How's your Monday so far?
