Oh I could see that when I was first aware of the place. That's why I said I'd have a problem going in, but it would be a nice problem to have.

SOTD TUESDAY MORNING, DECEMBER 29, 2020

This morning’s shave featured my English Cast Steel Boker French Point and my Seki AS-D2 safety razor. For a change of pace, I grabbed some Wholly Kaw King of Oud shave soap. This soap lathers nicely, but does dry out my skin post shave. Knowing this, I selected the Krampert’s Frostbite which contains Tea Tree oil which helps post shave. Some Shea butter also helped. The old Boker delivered a total three pass (WTG, ATG, XTG) whisker eradication on the mug, and was followed by an accompanying two pass (ATG, ATG) whisker pogrom on the noggin leaving me refreshed, cool, clean and smoothly velveteen.

RAZOR: Boker English Cast Steel French Point 5/8 (Mug), Seki 316L SS AS-D2 (Dome)
    BLADE: Feather DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: MrEE Knurled Aluminum Handle Hybrid Knot #007
SOAP: Wholly Kaw King of Oud
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with Glyce Glycerin soap followed by Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Krampert’s Frostbite AS Splash and Shea Butter.

Great shave Joe, enjoy the sun !
Wait a minute, I'm supposed to research these things too :D From their Site:

*Some notes to help you pick your Base Plate:

Original Base Plate - This is our current design configuration. It’s still my personal favorite and has a .68mm with positive blade exposure. This design offers a lot of user control with positive blade exposure. For a milder shave, you can change the angle or “ride the cap” for sensitive parts like the neck. For other areas, you can still have a good amount of efficiency.

    - Base Plate(NEW) - This is our newest base plate. If you have sensitive skin, prefer less blade feel, have fine hair or just enjoy a mild shave, this is the one. Head shavers have enjoyed this one. This plate has our least blade exposure and a .71mm blade gap.

+ Base Plate - We reduced the blade exposure and increased the gap to .88mm. This is a nice option if you only shave every 2-3 days, as the larger gap allows for this. Early feedback has been positive for those that prefer less blade exposure, but enjoy the efficiency of a larger gap.

++ Base Plate - This one is for those who like a very efficient option. This plate is still with positive blade exposure, but has less exposure than the + Base Plate. This razor has a larger 1.08mm gap. If you have thick hair and shave every 4-5 days or just like an efficient razor, this would be the one.

Take it with a grain of salt as many prefer the ++ Plate for daily shaves and they recommend it for 4-5 days growth..........Have a Great day !
Kinda like me letting the Insurance company pay off my Highlander from Hail damage and I drive the wheels off it the way it is  Have a good day Danny :happy088:

Real pleased with today's shave. I came back with the Central Texas Soaps Week-end Rodeo soap&A.S. The brush of the day was the Crown King Spindle Duro Tali. 0:30 at the loading dock for the soap/brush transfer. Good first pass all around. I am beginning to wonder if that area just below the jawline that I can't seem to get consists of ingrown hairs. Ongoing shave investigation here, thus I can't take any questions.(Course I'm sure you'll have comments though). Proceeded up the edges of N.Porcupine with the usual slowness. Cactus Nation went well(save for the aforementioned area with the possible ingrown hairs). No Knicks or cuts. I gave the aftershave bottle three strong shakes prior to application. Such a nice leather scent! Outta This World Excellent.

Awesome shave Dave! Although my Rockwell 6C uses plates, I find this method for other safeties confusing. Also, I don't like to hunt for plates hoping it will be the right fit for my face and beard. It's why I stick to traditional adjustables and straight/shavette razors.

    Tuesday's Shave

    Ever Ready 1912
    GEM S/S PTFE (4)
    JR #314 Cocobolo Wood Badger
    LEA Classic Shaving Soap
    T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    LEA Classic Aftershave

Well, my LEA Classic soap finally arrived in the mail yesterday. It is a Christmas gift from my mom and was caught up in the USPS holiday delays. It was well worth the wait. :)
The scent is definitely different than the LEA soap stick that I've been using and is a near match to the aftershave. It's a very hard triple milled soap, so I took 60 seconds to load the damp brush. Results were outstanding! Tremendous slickness with a rich, stable and creamy lather. The post shave feel is excellent as my skin feels soft and nourished. Overall, the lather produced today is still very similar to the stick version, with a slightly higher rating going to the puck (and that may just be the difference between loading from the puck instead of applying the stick to my face). Economically, these soap provide a high ROI. The cost of a 100g refill puck is $12 and the cost of a 50g stick is $6 on average (although the sticks can be found for less). So, the cost/gram is about the same and they will last a long time due to being a hard soap. I may not have to try out another new soap again (well...that sounded better in my head).

2 easy passes with the Ever Ready 1912 provided a very comfortable and efficient result this morning with no irritation or mishaps.
