Let me ask you zuneiacs something...

My wife's computer slows down to a dead crawl sometimes, and when I check the services, it seems that there are a few zune related services running. If I stop those services, the computer peps right back up. So, I set those services to "start manually". All goes well for a while, then BAM, slow computer again--check services... wash, rinse, repeat.

What gives? Is there a way to keep the zune crap from loading until I actually want it to? Why does it keep turning back on? Is there an alternative for synching?

 

Don't know much about Zunes.. But know the story of wive's computers.

Just gave my newly upgraded computer to my wife. I got sick of hearing about all the problems her computer was having and she needs the computer for her classwork.

So, I spent this week transferring files and getting her set up on a new computer before her next set of classes start on Monday. So, now I have been removing lots of crud so that her old computer is more usable for me. Funny... the new computer is now going crud slow and the old computer is much better.

 

Sure, just pick up a Sansa or Cowen player that doesn't install all the Zune junk. Might be another way, but I went with a Sansa Fuze in part due to this reason. If you're a real audiophile, Cowen is know for having the absolute best sound quality. I really feel drawn to these two brands based on reading opinions at anythingbutipod.

 

I have always enjoyed my Sansa clip.

 

no, only the Zune software can sync with the Zune.
I haven't had any problems with mine (surprisingly).

Love my Sansa e280. Probably more than my Zune, but wanted the larger capacity hard drive for long trips, podcasts, and videos.
If there were a Sansa out with a larger capacity at that time (~3 years ago), I would have gone with it. Of course, a few months after I got the Zune, Sansas came out with SDHC capability, which would have worked for me.
Oh well, there's always the next device....

 

Stupid cat! Made two loaves of banana bread last night and put them in bags on the counter before I went to bed. TWGW came down stairs this morning and found one on the floor with several bites take out of it! Arrrrg.

 

Stupid cat? Sounds like a pretty smart kitty to me. Found the bread, figured out how to get to it, and enjoyed a little gnosh.

Seriously though--dude that sucks. Can you at least salvage half the loaf?

 

any of you facebookers having any trouble getting into zynga games? TWGW can't get frontierville to load.

Also, Netflix keeps saying my connection has slowed and then it just locks up. Anybody else having this?

The den has been a little sporadic today, too. Just me?

Imagine, anytime and anyplace in the universe. We have the power to go anywhere. Of course, we're going to TSD at the HYD thread for Jan 10-16, 2011. Where else would you rather be?

 

One loaf is just fine, the other had bites taken from all over. It's not all bad, the shape of my belly says I didn't need the second loaf anyway.
