    Hi

I resolved to exercise this year. My arthritis is making my daily life miserable.
I have decided to exercise by walking and doing water aerobics in the fitness center. Today was water aerobics for the first class. It was fun and a good workout.

No, it certainly isn't. But it will do in a pinch. You know what is worse? Trying to use the internet through a Kindle. ugh... Love the kindle, don't love its experimental web experience.

yeah, I'll bet that could be even more difficult.

I have a Pandigital Novel I got just for shiggles, it's not a major tablet contender, but it's a decent enough device for what it's intended for. I've already loaded stock vanilla Android OS on it, and ready to do some other tweaking, but it's great for general web browsing and ebook reading.

But now the Xoom will be out soon....

It's pretty bad when my coworker keeps the office so cold I have to step outside just to warm up.

all righty- got the entire series of Farscape on dvd today. I predict a sci-fi marathon in the near future.

wow! if you're warming up in 20 degree weather then I think you've got grounds for some kinda lawsuit.

    Sounds like fun!

I need to go through Farscape one of these days. I caught an episode or two when it first began - wasn't bad. But I couldn't catch it in the days before DVR.

    Good morning everyone!

Weird dream... you were all in it.. but in other people's bodies. We were at a party in some large city. I got in trouble with JoAnna because I didn't know how to eat some type of cake without using a fork. Evidently it was a topic of a lot of discussion in here and I was accused of ignoring her posts... ? Meanwhile, the rest of you were trying to sync your android phones to take control of what we were watching on live TV.

Yeah... I knew I shouldn't have had that late night snack (wife's fault- peanut butter, chocolate chips, almond slices, banana.. all mixed in bowl). Won't be doing that anytime soon again.

Congrats- I am sure that helps things out!

    Wow....weird indeed, but....

please please please please please please please tell me I beat Micah in getting our phones synced :D  :happy102

and I can't believe you missed the "cake" conversation

okay, I had a weird dream a few nights ago too (wouldn't you know the one night I actually get more than 45 minutes in a row of Zzz's would be filled with puzzlingness...)
I was helping my supervisor from my work-study job back in college. He asked me to open the doors of this huge garage, and he drove his riding lawnmower out, put a helmet on, lowered the wings, gunned it and took off into the air...

    ?????

wish I had some snack to blame that on

That picture needed something... how's this?

I'm billing it as a sequel to LOST.

While we're on the subject of dreams... my all time favorite weird dream I had was of a stereotypical 70's pimp riding on a giant rice krispy treat, steering wheel in hand, feet dangling over the edge of the snack as it flew through the air.

I never have figured that one out. Nor am I sure I want to.

Is this a million dollar idea or not?

    burningmypockets dot com

Here's the idea-- Suppose you come into a meager sum of money; not really enough to invest, but enough that you don't want to spend it on "something practical" like, say, the light bill. "Fun money" if you will.

For example, say you've been given $100 as a gift.

Now, you could spend that on something you need, like groceries, or bills. Or you could blow that money on something frivolous and fun.

This site would help you do the latter.

You go to the site, type in the amount you want to spend. Maybe you could refine the search a little by choosing some categories of interest (ie. woodworking, electronics, shave supplies, etc.). You might even have an option of quantity of items you want to purchase (e.g. "I want to buy 7 items").

Through the magic of internet jiggery-pokery and not a little mathematics, the site would then return to you a list of things you could buy with that $100.

    What do you think?

    Half-baked or Fully-baked?

The key, IMHO, is to figure out the revenue stream. Yes, people would visit the site and use it. But, to had any real following you're going to need good recommendations. OTOH, you won't get people paying to use the site. So, this means you must get advertiser or sponsors. The obvious way to get sponsors would be to sell access for products at the site or preferential results (if you pay your products come up first in the result list). If you can get money this way without losing quality in the results of the search, I think you've got a winner. But, I don't think that's an easy problem to overcome.

I figured it would just be a simple bar of ads down one side of the results page. The ads would be to items "similar" to the results, not unlike how google handles ads.

I think the idea is fully baked, but unfortunately, the baking was in a dutch oven (and not the cast iron kind)....

I keed, I keed...here's what I think of the idea:

yeah, if it were connected with Google ads somehow, then the searches would be in businesses the work with Google ads, they would benefit from the service, win-win all around, methinks
