Well, I just placed my last order of the year. H baseplate from Yates. Stonewashed, no polished available. That's it until 2022.

After sitting with no update in NY for weeks my Yates razor that Alan polished arrived home today and I have a major problem...................this mirror finish shows every finger print when you touch it. [IMG] I'll live with this problem happily. Thanks for an AMAZING job Alan [IMG]

    New Year's Eve

    A3 Gillette Red Tip
    Feather (2)
MrEE Danger handle w/30 mm Maggard's SHD two-band fan
    Tabac
Alum, Witch Hazel, USB, Almond Oil, CC Bay Rum & Aramis EdT

I'm near BBS in 2+ passes and sufficiently smelly for New Year's Eve. Evening shaves every couple of days have become the lock down norm, and my DECember setup has consistently delivered. I was reminded this month that Feather blades are good for three shaves. On the fourth shave, I experience the slightest bit of irritation which is a deal breaker for me.

The Maggard's SHD knot on my @MrEE brush has opened up, and it's a joy to use. I spent extra time this month breaking in the brush by working the Tabac lather more than I normally would. It not only helped the lather, but it also prepped my face better for the shave. It is time well spent in getting the results that I want.

I have finally conquered the trouble spots around my chin and upper lip by stretching the skin more and employing some different XTG and ATG strokes. Overall, it has kicked up the quality of my shaves a notch. I've also started shaving exclusively ATG on my lower neck and stretching the skin better -- my neck tolerates two ATG passes on every-other-day shaves. This is probably not something I could do on daily shaves without experiencing some irritation.

The blue stoneware mug was a Christmas gift from our friends up north. It was crafted by a hobbyist potter named Ester on Cortes Island, BC. It's ideal for soaking my brush prior to the shave, and it could be used as a brush scuttle if I want to place it in warm water.

I've got another month's worth of CC Bay Rum to use up. At that point, I will tearfully put away my Tabac for awhile and begin using Stirling BoS soap and the matching aftershave.

December has been a month of great shaves, sharing, encouragement, friendship and shenanigans. We exceeded 10,000 posts, a new record. Thanks to our Fraghead @Primotenore for boldly leading the charge and involving his legal team as necessary on copyright infringement matters.

I'm thankful for each of you and to be included in this fine group. My Bride and I wish you and your families a Happy New Year.

    Grace and Peace!
