Today: Triceratops with black top, black handle.

The De Vergulde Hand Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #395 Badger. Two passes and touch ups with the Triceratops 3D Printed Razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Citrus Musk EdC. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Brush:- Semogue SOC 2 Band Finest Badger in Butterscotch 24/53mm knot
Soap/Cream:- Noble Otter ~ Firefighter
Razor/Blade:- Merkur 34G / Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow #6
Post/After-shave:- T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Astringent mixed into the 240ml bottle with Invite E High Potency Pure Oil (10 drops), Natural Plant Glycerin (20) & Tea Tree Oil Antiseptic (5)

2021-01-01, Friday

I think my limbic system needs maintenance: it doesn't feel like a new year to me. It feels like a continuation of the old one to me!

It snowed a little, it rained a little: the weather is so uncertain it seems it’s been created by our prime minister!

No indecision, however, in choosing the maiden gear of the new year (or a recycled old one: I've yet to figure it out...): I chose without a doubt! (Maybe it really is a new year!)

Now we have twelve months of electrifying experiences ahead of us! Maybe... it's best to isolate ourselves!

PS. It's hard to get logs while it's raining on your head and glasses!

Thursday morning’s Grand Freeze:

My first shave of 2021!

Neutrogena Men Facial Wash

Super Speed/Minora day 7
Bundubeard Vanilla X 3 SS
Prep ASB
Folsom & Company Black Powder AS Splash

Any colder than this and I think my face would have disintegrated - does this Vanilla X 3 soap ever deliver a wicked menthol sensation along with a nice scent, super thick, rich, slick lather, and great skincare. I sure hope Jaco starts to produce it again because it’s such a delightful soap. The Prep always gives me fabulous moisturizing, cooling, and soothing as well as its nice medicinal scent which I love, and the Black Powder aftershave not only smells beautiful it has plenty of menthol in it. What an easy peasy enjoyable three pass BBS shave this was!

May 2021 be our year - be well and safe!

Friday 1st January
Yaqi Heavy Metal Tux - OSP Dark Matter - GEM SE 3D Adjustable by Roger Quintero - GEM SSC#2 on 'C' plate - Irisch Moos A/S - Aloe Vera Gel

I was fortunate to obtain the Dark Matter soap. The original owner had a reaction to it. The scent was right down my street. And the performance is just what I expect from the artisan James Riley.
The 'C' plate on the printed adjustable was definitely more aggressive than the 'A' plate and gave me a superb, smooth result.
