The G E Jones Shake Sharp has a built in honing mechanism that originally used carbon blades that were shaped like paint scrapers. When the razor was shaked, it would hone the blades. Per Jeff's suggestion, you should stack 2 DE blades in the razor to mimic the thickness of the carbon blades. You can shave with using one blade, but it is not as efficieent. I failed to mention that the razor acts like a single edge because only one side of the DE blade is exposed. There are posts that help you load the blades, but adding the second blade is a little fidgety. After the blade(s) are loaded, the you close and lock the razor by sliding the head horizontally. To change or clean the blade, you press down on the head and slight it in the opposite direction and lift it. I hope. It really isn't that hard to load or unload this razor. It is a very good razor, but I mainly use it for headshaves.

Thanks Joe, I get it now. VERY much like my DeHaven for sharpening mechanism but regular blades verses the DeHaven require finagling a Injector blade and never worked properly. Just needed the particulars on the blade before I bought the one I had my eye on. Thanks again.

Excellent shave, Chris! I have the Tabac stick and it is always welcome in my den. It doesn't smell like an elderly woman's purse to me. Lol!

 

That is really interesting. I don't wear colognes to work because I used work with an individual who was very sensitive to fragrances. That has made me very hesitant to wear any scents. In fact, my wife smelled the Tobac and said it smells like soap (clean is good). I reassured her that I would be putting on cologne since I am not working today.

Very nice shave, Clint! I would imagine that the razor is slippery when wet due to the smooth handle. I realize that you have to grip it close to the base, but I prefer to hold a razor in the middle.

Did a little den cleaning today.

Murphy and McNeil is out if the den. I really like their soaps off of the bat and their graphics as well.

If you remember I ordered Crann Bethadh in January of 2019. It went soft and sticky and M&M replaced it with Bad Mor in May of 2019. Both of these soaps have turned granular and are in the trash. I did save the nice white containers for some good soap.
