Prep: Warm shower / Cussons Imperial Leather ~ Arctic Ocean & Icelandic Moss Shower Gel.

Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face.
Yardley ~ English Lavender Bar Soap + Nuage Menthol shaving Oil.
Brush: Vie-Long Horsehair.
Face Lather.
Lather : Williams Mug Shaving Soap.
Blade: Tiger Platinum. (2)
FrankenRazor: Schmidt R10 Handle./Yaqi DOC Razor Head.

Post:
Cold Water Face Rinse./Homemade (~Winter mix~) peppermint lavender eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Witch Hazel Mixture./Dana ~English Leather ASL./Nivea Men ~ Sensitive Cooling PSB.

A relaxing Sunday morning shave.

Another wonderful 3 pass + pick ups near BBS shave with no errors to report.

The Tiger Platinum blades to shave with paired together with the Yaqi DOC razor head was smooth and efficient, making the shave a pleasurable experience...Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of Nivea Men ~ Sensitive Cooling PSB.

My face is feeling silky smooth & smelling divine.

The mid-to-lower ATG neck pass is my most challenging as well. Three non-technique-related things must be perfectly aligned for this to be successful:
1) Blade must be fresh and smooth
2) Lather MUST be dense, but...
3) not TOO dense, to compromise slickness

 

Thanks, Joe. The Kouros is available in a reformulation and at a "reasonable" price. I picked up this 1980's bottle (40% full) on Ebay. You can tell the difference, because the old bottle has chrome "shoulders". You can also make out the level of the juice in this photo.

Consideration of fave tools is forbidden in my rule.

That said, I love to use an edge forward shaving device for this particular move though.

I’ve never used one of these blades past 3x. We’ll see how it goes. Part of the point of the exercise. I think I paid 1/2 cent each for these blades. At that cost it is a little hard to argue the value of Excaliburian victories if it gives me discomfort.

The Col Conk is adequate. I believe it to be a good choice of economy suds.

Wanted to try this new to me cream with one of my favorite scents. It didn't work up a lather like I remember when I used the C.O. Bigelow Cream regularly many many years ago in my early years. I will try a bowl lather next time to see if I can dial it in better. Still adequate although the scent could be stronger for me. 2nd outing with the F Type Injector and I am sooo glad I found one of these fairly reasonable. It gives a perfect injector shave for me even though I was told some feel it isn't a great shaver. Not sure what those individuals gripe was so I can't address it. It works for me. Topped off with Nivea Deep and the Endymion Cologne so ready for somecoffee and Pumpkin Chocalate Chip muffin and whatever the day has to offer. Back to the 1508.5 tomorrow......Everyone have a seriously fun day !!!

 

I wouldn't put the Flair tip in this category. (I don't think you were implying that you think that razor is either) Using the '11 R41, this move, for me, is like walking a tightrope. Where's the optimum blade angle? How much pressure is too much. (That might sound like a ridiculous statement, but yesterday, my touch was so light, that I knew I wasn't shaving hair),
Skin stretching, on my face, in this area, does not always facilitate better hair removal. It almost makes the stubble retreat into the skin. I have to rely on a stretched chin instead. Add to this, that there is almost zero sub-cutaneous fat in this area. No safety cushion, so to speak.

Great F Type shave, Dave. I like mine after it’s repair; it’s in much rougher shape than yours, but prefer the E Type and find it to be a more efficient shaver, although I can get a decent shave from either. Enjoy your Sunday!
