The Tatara boar did a wonderful job loading and lathering The City. Day three with the Tatra Nodachi. Three passes and touch ups ended in a drama free near BBS shave. I have tried but I just don't like the Nocachi as much as the Tatara Masamune. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are among the best I have seen but I will be listing this razor in the next couple of weeks when things slow down. Asha and I are off to visit my Mom before Asha returns to Tampa on Tuesday. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Thanks for the tip about Proraso shave cream in a can. I am in Canada and I can get it here at my local drug store for around $9. They also sell the Proraso cream in a tube and the soap puck. The can of Barbasol I have is pretty new so it'll be awhile.

Great shave Clint! I have often times have said that I can acknowledge that someone is drop dead gorgeous, but I am not attracted to her because of other things.

 

January 3rd

Razor: 1940's style Superspeed
Blade: Gillette Nacet (3)
Brush: MrEE #1
SS: TOBS Peppermint
AS: Proraso Green

Only about 19 hours since my last shave. So the stubble was pretty light. Bowl lathered the TOBS and got better results. The lather was very frothy and foamy, but it worked. The '40s style SS felt very mild. Got a quick 2+ pass shave to a BBS finish. Used a little blade buffing on my chin with excellent results.

Today's shave was once again with the old school setup of the 1955 Gillette flare tip, Wilkinson shave soap & Wilkinson brush I had I decided to swap the Shaverboy blade after 3 shaves for a new one just to be safe. I must say the my lathering technique is getting better as I learn how much water is needed on my brush to work up a nice lather with the soap. Today I was able to get 2 passes off the brush without having to go back to the soap puck and make more lather. I only had to add a little more soap to the brush for a 3rd pass. Finished off with a rinse of cold water and a splash of Skin Bracer.

As always the vintage Gillette razor performed marvelously with the new blade. As I've been shaving with cold water for years I shave using cold water in a stainless steel bowl. Very close almost BBS shave with no skin irritation or cuts.
