The blockage must be finally loosening (amazing, what multiple Fleet Enemas will accomplish). This is my bottle of Terre d'Hermès.

Ordered this one sometime late December (December 26 or 27) should be here by Tuesday but could be here tomorrow. Mont Blanc really surprised me on this release, technically it's a clone of creed Aventus, so this will be nice to wear when I don't want to break out Aventus. It's been getting a crap ton of hype so I fell for the hype train.

Not shaving related, but I've been interested in one of these for a while.

The Yankee 1545 Miller's Falls 2 speed hand drill. This is considered the "Rolls Royce" of vintage hand drills. It's a bit too heavy for general woodworking, and a bit too light for full time metal use. Not a lot of these were made, and it was the top of the line drill made by Miller's Falls in the early part of last century.

This drill has a big 1/2" three pronged chuck. Both speeds are adjustable on the lever handle, and the gear box functions (5) are adjustable on the gar box itself with the push of a button. The head and handles on the piece are have some nicks and scratches from use. All seems to be in good condition and tight with no play.

It came from a 90 year old tool collector who was moving. The seller bought the tools that he did want to take with him. This was one of them.

I looked at the hype, looked at Aventus's scent description, and passed. Lots of people seem to like aventus though.

This is what I believe to be a rare Gillette pocket razor I just ordered. Date is January 13, 1920. Got it for a decent price seems to be in good condition. I’ll be nick naming it the Great Gatsby razor. 319D7735-5CA5-4185-AE7C-0CEE64BBCEAC.jpeg EA97F6E7-EE93-4073-A3C8-9992BC65283F.jpeg 57AF8A60-3E66-44DA-84CC-A4670113267B.jpeg

As I wrote many years ago, Stoylin's Adventus clone(Xecutive Man)came in 3rd of the 4 samples I ordered. It was OK, it's just that the first two jumped out at me more(course the 1st jumped a little farther lol).

Lifter mechanisms are different also including the tabs and how they are riveted. With that said there is a transistion model since they didn't switch the whole lifter mechanism including the doors to the next style all at once that has the higher profile head and older tabs and rivets. Using that when you can't determine the head profile will give a correct identification 9.75 out 10 times.
