Today, my weather started at -15ºF with clouds and has warmed to -6ºF and sunny. A least it's going to keep getting warmer, unlike yesterday.

 

Its hard to tell with the drifts. But it looks like we are over a foot now. All light fluffy snow that the dog enjoys playing with - but no good for snow balls or sledding..

just installed the Instant Heart Rate app from Firefox onto my phone.
I installed it because I was thinking "How the crap is a phone going to measure my heart rate?"

IT STINKIN' WORKS!

man I am whooped....

Spent the afternoon shoveling snow and compressing snow and shoveling snow, and compacting snow....

until I made daughter an artificial ramp to sled down... then 2 hours of helping her hold the sled and fixing the ramp between runs....

ugh... hot cocoa time

 

kewl... gonna check that on daughter's cruz then.. Its too bad that it doesn't really have access to the android market.. It was kind of misleading in its claims. But she still likes it...

 

Nope... it wouldn't work on the Cruz, because the Cruz doesn't have the actual Market. However, it worked well to find apps for my phone while the internet was still running.

However, the internet died last night. It appears Frontier is out across the region. I guess it gave me a reason to finally get around to installing some tethering software on my phone. Its funny how the internet through my phone to my computer is working MUCH faster than the internet on the phone.

 

Cool. I will have to try tethering sometime. I installed seekdroid a couple days ago. Very cool app. Once installed, you can control it from the website. You can remotely enable GPS and see in google maps where your phone is if you lose it. If you can't find it in your house, you can set off an alarm, which turns up the volume, and then sounds. You can check the recent calls, lock the phone, or even wipe the data on the phone. Pretty slick for 99 cents.

yeah, my Novel can't access the Market either, gotta download the .apk's to install apps.
Kind of a pain, but better than nothing. But since I don't use it for much more than web browsing, it's not that big of a deal

And it is kinda surprising that tethering seems to load webpages faster, but I would venture the guess that since it's the computer's processor loading the pages and the phone is just passing bits through, that makes the difference.

Hmmmm, I need to check out SeekDroid, and someone else on Facebook mentioned Where'sMyDroid (IIRC). That one's free, but not sure what the differences between the two are.

actually, there's is a Lightsaber app, I haven't downloaded it yet (surprisingly).


I heard Dodge was making a soundboard app containing engine and exhaust sounds, but was scrapped because they thought the name Hemidroid would put people off....

that's actually kinda cool, one of the comments mentions making it a live wallpaper for Android, which I would get if they do.
