My lawyers on retainer have been notified but inform me that the fact that you were in public when the picture was taken and on top of that, unshaven leaves you with no grounds for claiming privacy or copyright laws and the suit will be considered frivolous and dismissed. :D

Couple of new additions to the den up today. I bought the WSP Neroli set for the girls to give me as a Christmas gift. The iKon was an impulse purchase. Several years back I had a iKon B1 Deluxe head and stupidly sold it. So I picked up a iKon set with the B1 Deluxe and OSS plates. The Neroli scent to my is a fantastic mixture of citrus and vetiver. Three passes and touch ups ended in a drama free BBS shave. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

    Good morning gentlemen!

When Jim @jluc sent me the Hawk V3 OC he was gracious and included a new tub of Simpson shave cream. I noticed that the instructions on the underside label which is not centered :Dstated to use a Simpson brush.
20210106_172803.jpg This presented a dilemma for Danny since I did not own a Simpson. I enabled myself and ordered a pretty little T3 Trafalgar that came in yesterday. After all, men are known to follow directions. :happy102:

Since there is Simpson soap and a Simpson brush in the den I decided to make this a British shave and break out a pretty little English made razor that Gary @brit sent me a while back. It is a gorgeous little Gem for sure.
    20210106_172556.jpg
So how did all come together? Glad you asked.
    20210106_172240.jpg
Awesomeness abounded in Alabama today. The T3 sets itself apart from the other synthetics in my den. I cannot tell much differences between my other synthetics but the T3 has more backbone and just feels different. It does an excellent job whipping up the Simpson lather which is very nice. Three passes with the little Gem and I am smooth. The alum was a little warm this morning but nothing to complain about. A few squirts of American Tobacco by Andy Hilfiger and I am good to go.

Take care gentlemen and have a great day.

    3P Almond Shaving Soap~~dubl duck #4~~2011 Mühle R41/Gillette Platinum~~Vintage Givenchy Gentleman
When Primo does a rule, he does a rule.

I am really taming this gear. Starting with the soap.
Bloomed the heck out of it and loaded the dd for about 5 minutes. ;)
To the bowl and the result was the slickest lather yet.
Does the soap still leave my face dry :signs002: Yes. However, with the proper post-shave goop, it's fixable.

Fresh Gillette Platinum in the R41, as yesterday.
    Same shallow angle, as yesterday,
Threw caution to the wind an attempted an ATG neck-pass...:shocked003:
    Good results---zero
    irritation; zero nicks.
@brit purchased some Givenchy Gentleman a while back and the FragHead in me was
sufficiently inspired to search out a vintage bottle of said juice.
Wonderful scent for the mature man. ;)
Seriously, one does not usually equate patchouli with the non-hippie types,
but patchouli is not the dirty scent that was made popular in the head shops of the 60's and 70's.

In fact, it's probably in half of the aftershaves and colognes in your den.

SOTD THURSDAY MORNING, JANUARY 7, 2021

I know I’ve complained in the past about my shaving tools collection getting out of hand, but one of the pluses of such an event are that we can enjoy the variety provided by such a collection. I’m one of those folk who initially became caught up in the modern artisan safety razor hysteria, but of late have come to realize that the old adage, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” really makes sense when it comes to shaving tools. This is not to say that I’ll be ditching all my modern safety razor acquisitions. They’ll take my Karve, Blackland, and Colonial safety razors away only after I move to the other side of the grass! But, my vintage razors, both straight and safety, deliver every bit as good, if not better a shave as my modern artisan offerings. In fact, starting this Sunday, the 30DC crew at TSD will be hosting a week long Gillette focus featuring safety razors that are 50 or more years old. I would invite all my shave brothers and sisters to join us starting this Sunday! My handle there is @jgreenepa.

Today’s shave featured two of my favorite vintage shaving tools, my C-Mon Special straight razor for the mug, and my nickel-plated Shake Sharp Model 2.0 for the noggin. The new Naniwa 12k/jasper edge on the C-Mon Special is just so incredibly buttery smooth and sharp. It feels like I’m just sweeping the facial lather away. The same held true for my noggin shave as well. As many may know, I think the Shake Sharp razor is one of the best shaving vintage razors around. I used to own 6 but have sold two and gifted one to a good friend. The three that remain are all great shavers, but my favorite is the earliest model Bakelite handled 1.5 that was just recently featured in a shave report. Loaded with two stacked Feather or Kai DE blades it is easily the equal or superior of most modern artisan offerings. Today’s nickel plated metal handle model delivered as good a dome shave as I had on my mug. It is a SE safety razor designed for DE blades. One of the mainstream Gillette shaving products that deserves more press is Gillette Pure shaving cream. My JT custom Pro48 boar generated the two types of lather I enjoy, which when removed left me feeling cool, refreshed, clean and smoothly velveteen.

RAZOR: C-Mon Special 11/16 (Mug), G.E. Jones Shake Sharp SE Model 2.0 (Dome)
    BLADE: 2 Stacked Feather DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: JT Custom Sapele/Resin Pro48 Boar
    CREAM: Gillette Pure
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with Glyce Glycerin soap followed by Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Krampert’s Frostbite AS Splash.
