This one's fun! The dry tub scent is fairly misleading in that it's straight strawberry ice cream. I've had this tub lying around for weeks, and I probably take a hit of it every couple days. I finally worked up the nerve to use it. Part of my reluctance was related to the cannabis note, but not for the social reasons you might be thinking. Every cannabis-centric product I've used has come with a degree of warmth and redness and occasionally full-on irritation. I've come to realize in many of these cases, cinnamic acid is the culprit, and it's commonly a component of cannabis fragrance synthesis. I'll save you the anticipation. I experienced zero warmth or sensitivity from Strawberry Fields. I even pushed my luck by leaving the pulled lather on my scalp and face while I cleaned up my gear. The Kaizen (K1) base is one of the leaders in artisan soap performance, and the post-shave feel only gets better if you can let the lather hang around for a while. Despite the prolonged exposure, I still experienced no ill effects.

So, instead of focusing on what I didn't experience, I'll move on to the what this fragrance does when you lather it. The aforementioned strawberry ice cream element immediately changes when water hits it. It's a powerful, but natural ripe strawberry note made slightly creamy by way of soft warm sandalwood. This alone is worth the price of admission. The dry, but green cannabis is authentic and bold. I've never smoked a strawberry-soaked joint, but I imagine this is what it would smell like before you burn it. During the shave, the strawberry, sandalwood, and cannabis persist at a fairly constant strength without much transformation.

Initially, the splash is an exact match of the soap, but with an added slightly boozy core. Given time, the cannabis does settle to a less specific herbal essence, and the strawberry becomes less sweet. The dry down maintains this pleasant herbaceous background with a bit of woody depth such that this might be confused with a standard fougère. After about 3 hours the sandalwood is the last to fade.

Strawberry Fields has enough going on that I can't relegate this to the novelty realm as I had anticipated. This beautiful fragrance remains bright and fresh, and despite its unmistakable cannabis note it never approaches a skunkiness or dankness. This is very much a pleasant, wearable fragrance.

I didn't sleep a wink, and I don't even know if this is the start of a decent day.

I felt the call of the 3P, always unfairly neglected even when speaking 'excellent products at low prices': I detect the extremes of soapism!
It loads quickly and lathers just as quickly.

Spectacular the return to the Russian blades, provided I don't use them on the Progress: they are absolutely unnoticeable and definitive.

I realize now that it's going to be a bright day: I'm going to suck a Tavor...

The Barbasol Original Shaving Cream was applied with the Burma Shave Boar. One pass and touch ups with the Schick L with a Personna Injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Barbasol AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Thank you, Gary.

What's a "Tavor"? Google only yields results referring to a gun.

Thanks! @Primotenore what about this soap did you find daunting? The fragrance or the risk of burn?
