I’ve never used Ivory snow, Joe. Sort of like MWF on steroids! :)

    Razor: Gillette Psycho Tech
    Blade: Wizamet (3)
    Brush: Sorrentino Clown Puke
    Soap: Clown Puke
    AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
    AS 2: Aqua Velva
    Fragrance: Nautica Blue
I decided to start my focus on these 50+ year old Gillette's a day early with my Psycho Tech and Original Key. I always get an irritation free shave from this but doesn't usually last as long before stubble reappears. Better than usual results today so I'm hopeful.I felt my Clown Puke Soap and Brush would compliment the razor well. For those that may ask a Clown Puke Soap is from mushing leftover samples or the last remains of a near gone puck of soap into a tub. Eventually you have a full tub of soap that actually can have an interesting scent that changes as you go thru the tub. It also tends to be one of your better soaps as it can enhance the best characteristics of each of the soaps you put into it working together. Depending on the array of colors of the soap you add it can look like it's name too. The brush got the name as it was the first time Eric Sorrentino poured his own blanks to turn for 3 winners of a drawing in another neighborhood. This was a blank that was made from the remains of each of those 3 that were poured into a mold and turned it into this handle by Eric and I received from him. Topped off with some vintage Aqua Velva and Blue from Nautica. Have a delightful day guys !!

SOTD SATURDAY MORNING, JANUARY 9, 2021

I selected the Christopher Bradley safety razor from Karve Shaving for one last modern artisan safety razor dome shave before the Gillette Safety Razor Week focus which starts tomorrow here at TSD. Before I saw the light I spent a half century of one pass Barbasol shaves with the same Schick Krona until it finally gave up the ghost. My first modern artisan safety razor purchase was the safety razor featured in this photo. My only gripe with the design was the top cap which exposed the blade tabs. Then Karve developed the wide body cap enclosing the tabs and that was that. I prefer Karve’s OC base plates, and this morning’s shave featured the F_OC. It certainly delivered the goods shearing away all stubble evidence since yesterday’s dome shave.

The MrEE Monster Tuxedo Synth is aptly named. The gold anodized aluminum handle feels great in hand. It easily generated the two types of lather I enjoy for my shaves. In fact, it is a real soap/croap/cream eater. Many in our hobby become entranced with scents and as a result accumulate large numbers of soaps and creams. Well, this brush is the answer to your prayers for soap reduction. Now on to my face! The mug shave featured my well-used Frederick Reynolds 5/8 with its very slight smile. This is truly a superb shaver. Light in hand, it nevertheless swept away the Nancy Boy lather and mug stubble with its usual aplomb. Three passes later I was left feeling clean, refreshed and velveteen smooth, just another delightful shave.

RAZOR: Frederick Reynolds 5/8 (Mug), Karve Safety Razor F_OC Plate
    BLADE: Polsilver DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: MrEE Aluminum Monster Tuxedo Synth
    CREAM: Nancy Boy Signature
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with Glyce Glycerin soap followed by Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Royall Lyme AS/Cologne.

That looks like a "Primo" SOTD Photo. ;)
I notice a lot of Black bristles in that Omega knot. You want a REALLY soft knot? Cut those babies off at the base. They will never "break-in"

That's a great story, and the first part sounds very familiar. Sadly, My wife uses bath soap and a dispos-ABLE @Paul Turner in the shower and my son, uses the brand-new Braun Wet/Dry electric I bought him for Christmas :scared003: so I don't have anyone to "pass on" my superfluous gear to. Thus making necessary the semi-annual, ridiculously cheap, mega-lot sales.

Great and amusing summary, Blair! Yes I know I’mretty boring soap wise. It’s either MWF or Nancy Boy, although I do enjoy Castle Forbes Lime now and then! Enjoy your shaves! :)

    1. The clock is ticking. Friday it becomes real when I submit the resignation for retirement papers.
    2. Yes, I may develop so storage issues if I continue. I like the idea of the rubber stamp holder but that put SWMBO over the edge.

Thanks Jeff. I've had 3 over the years but only this one with an original key. That's the rarest part of the equation.
