Well... it has been a fun day... start with -10 temps in the morning (before wind chill)... then school delay which causes there to not be enough time to get labs finished each period.

Then I get home and go to shovel off the balcony. There is about 3 feet of snow on there from the last two storms... For you southerners.. if the snow all melts this weekend, it will work its way into the wall... it has to go.

While removing the insulating plastic, the plastic sheet rips...

While trying to open the door, the handle snaps off..

Spend an hour melting ice off of the door track that has built up on the outside of the door while holding the hair dryer on the inside of the door...

Finally get the main sliding door open enough to squeeze out and try to open the screen sliding door... the door twists up like a pretzel

Try to thaw out the screen door - not happening...

Try to lift door out of track, the screen rips...

Finally get outside to begin shoveling, the shovel breaks

Squeeze back inside to find another shovel, get 2nd shovel and in the process of removing snow and ice, cut the DirecTv cable...

ugh... finally get the snow shoveled, and the door is frozen shut with me on the outside on a 2nd story balcony.

Finally get inside, make some food and type this rant... spill BBQ sauce on my keyboard....

 

there will be no banning of bacon, waffles, or oatmeal.
if there were an Eleventh Commandment, this is what it would be about

Today's shave? Actually, I forgot to tighten the 3 piece head back up after loosening it to rinse yesterday. I managed to do a full pass with a supposedly "aggressive" 3 piece that was loose without cutting, nicking, or bleeding. So considering that stroke of luck, the rest of the day balances it out nicely.

While in the middle of the battle of the balcony, I was certainly thinking about the "Diary of a Snow Shoveler" joke that occasionally makes its way around the e-mail circuit. An episode of Lucy certainly wouldn't come too far from the truth either.

At least I can sit back and laugh about it.

 

geez Justin. That day sucks.

 

The ever present visage of the banhammer answers my question about that new avatar I was thinking of trying out...

back to the drawing board, I suppose.

woke up went to class... then library for 7 hours. Wrote a midterm... then class till 730 then home.

Got some teas (Tazo passion, black, cinnamon, and some Lipton Mango/White tea), had a great shave... and now undertaking my usual over-excessive homework load (but surely with a delicious cup of tea).

 

Ended up being the pilot light. Somehow it went out...it's back on, and so is my hot water. Happy day. I get a hot shower tomorrow

 

I feel like I should point out to you all, that I'm ridiculously giddy every time I pull up my blog. It seems that through some random galaxy alignment I have accidentally managed to lay things out in such a way as it appears that Craig Ferguson is gazing fondly upon my latest image post.

Coincidentally, can you name this bird?
