Very nice set up Myles! I cannot wait for that razor to arrive in my den while you are in boot camp. :D

Thanks Joe. I normally don't forget the aftershave but this morning was a little difficult trying to get out the door. You are right about date night. ;)

Kai’s being a smidge wider and quite sharp as well kick the Tech shave up a notch, Jason! :)

Thanks, Jason, for the question. I, like Joe, am intrigued with the notion of the history tied into the old straights I like to shave with. I currently own only two current production straights, my Dovo Special and my Riga Razor. I like to think of myself as a caretaker for my current vintage straights which date from the 1950s back to around 1790 - 1820, although that particular Stubtail razor is currently being restored for me. I have noticed differences in the edges built from the various steels. Old crucible cast steel razors don’t hold an edge like the newer steels, but shaving with such an old wedge razor that dates back 10 generations or so is fascinating to me! I guess the fact that I’m coming to the end of the road myself may have something to do with it. I feel good knowing that Ben will take care of my razors when I transition to the other side of the grass.

I also owned an Oren, as Clint can attest, but sold it for much the same reason you did. I just found it too big and clunky. My friend who bought it from me loves it! YMMV in this hobby as we all know! :)

Great shave, Gary! Glad it went so well! You should try a Tech shave with a Kai; it definitely like it up a notch as Emeril Lagasse is fond of saying. Good afternoon! :)

Thanks, Danny! That’s part of the fun for me, researching these old straights. :)
