    1947 1st iteration 40s style Super Speed

One question answered after using the 46 - ?? Ranger Tech. These are the same razor and only differ by the handle. The second iteration which started in Jan. or Feb. of 48 is actually the first instance that the razor head was changed. End result close but no BBS cigar.

Here are the 1st and 2nd iterations of the Super Speed.

What is the 30 Day Rule?
Take ONE razor, ONE blade, ONE brush, ONE soap/cream and use them EVERYDAY of the month. EVERYDAY. Then, after the shave, post the results---in detail---pictures are better, and we have a real cache of talented photographers on TSD. Now, tell us what was good. What needed improvement. What needed a lot more attention. Put it out there for the other members to critique and/or make suggestions for improvement. And I also encourage us all to do just that."

I've been doing this for several years before I learned just today there's a thread about it here at TSD
I use the same razor every day - General by Colonial. I received mine on Dec. 23 2016. Exception: I love my straight razors and have never been tempted to use a SR every day, but I do like to use them periodically whenever the mood strikes me.
I use the same blades (Kai Captain Original and Schick P-30) one brand every day for one month before I switch to the other brand
I use my soaps anywhere from 30 to 45 days at a time
I use only one aftershave splash. Same every day, and have been that for at least 5 years - Superior 70 Mentholated, with added menthol and 444 ASB
Sometimes, but not always, I like to use the same brush from day to day. This is because I have several favorites
I don't care for scents, so I don't ever use them in my shaving process. There might be an occasion that warrants a splash of something or other, but rarely.

  9. Day 12 & 13 of my January Rule
    Shave 10

    Tuxedo Synthetic brush
Col. Conk Glycerin based Bay Rum Soap, jacked by Stirling Frost Drops coolant
    Gillette C1 Flair Tip
    Personna Blue (1)
Proraso Green toning lotion w/menthol & eucalyptus

These menthol solutions are nice. I don’t know why I don’t use them more.

An unusual evening shave for me. Was running out of time this morning and decided to take a mulligan and combine 2 days to avoid a cookout penalty.

It is refreshing to call it a day clean shaven, maybe I’ll do it more.

Starting to see some irritation on the lower neck from the ATG work even using new blades. I’ll change up and stay WTG and XTG for a few.

  20. A lot of great posts, both razor related and ice cream related. Yum.

Today I used, once again, the Fatboy, Tobac, Captain's Choice copper shave bowl, and custom brush. For a little extra detail about the Fatboy, it is date code E4, making it a last quarter of 1959 razor, if I understand the codes right. I had a perfect shave, no nicks or irritation. It Hass been very enjoyable using this combination this month. [IMG]
